How long can I be out of Canada with PGWP?

I received my PGWP end of July 2017, departed Canada first week of September. Currently considering not returning until January 2018. Is this fine? What's the maximum amount of time I can be out of Canada without risking validity of PGWP?

1. As long as you want. IRCC doesn't really care if you work on your PGWP or not.

Just remember a PGWP is not a travel document so unless visa exempt need to continue to have a valid TRV plus your PGWP to show to an airline if on a one way for example coming back from home country.
