Hello,

I got high blood pressure in medical test, then they took ECG and it was fine.
They added few more test like creatine blood test and they referred me to a cardiologist. Thus this affect my application in any ways?

Applicants may be denied a Canada Immigration (Permanent Resident) Visa solely on medical grounds, if:

Their condition would endanger the health or safety of the Canadian population at large; or
Their admission might cause excessive demand on existing social or health services provided by the government.

Don't think, high blood pressure is on the list...

I am in the same situation. My BP suddenly went up to 150/105 when I took the exam (was always, as I knew, in the 125/85 range). The hospital referred me to a cardiologist, completed ECG and ultrasound. Everything turned out to be normal. Urine test turned out to be normal as well. Still waiting for the result of serum creatinine right now - is this something of concern? I do not have known history of high blood pressure and am not on medication/treatment for it.

I got my echo 2d test done and creatinine level was fine. Doctor said to me that this don't affect application as people with High BP still goes to Canada :)

I got some protein in my urine too and they said it could be due to High BP, even I didn't had any history with it. It seems hospitals can also cause high BP ;)

Any ways I have sent my meds back to NDVO. Keeping my fingers Crossed!! Also they have put me on medication and asked me to consult my family doctor.

Let me know if you got your rest of the reports

Dear All,

High BP is no problem.
It happened to me.
They have send for furtherance tests-cardiologist report.
ECG an ECHO test which was normal.
************If your BP is above 140/90*************************
I have passed the medicals too.
If you are on medication and BP is under control, then that is fine.

All urine and blood test results were normal, nothing was found. ECG and ultrasound revealed no problem with my heart and nearby blood vessels. Just the BP was too high (148/98). I beg I would pass the medical exam based on the comments on this board?

I would like to share my medical experience last week... All went normal except my BP .It was 160 /110 while physician checking (Never went abnormal in the past)

Reason could becasue of my hetic travel before medicals / Anxiety over further overseas travel !! (Later felt chosen wrong day for medicals)

I Was told to wait some time and again re checked but still it was 150 / 90 , then Doctor directed me to undergo ECG and serum Ceratinine test.

Just now checked the online portal of hospital ... my Serum Ceratinine result is 0.8 mg/dl (normal is 0.9 to 1.3 ) & ECG is normal.

As per hosptial , VO office will decide on further test.... May be I Would get call for Cardio opinion !!
--------
Yesterday I got call from hospital asking me to visit again for cardio opinion...
Can some one help me understand what kind of test will there ? How to handle this

is the request for a medical test from the embassy a guarantee that your application will be approved? has anyone here tried to experience being denied but was requested to undergo a medical test?

I am applying for a student visa and sent my application on nov. 20. got embassy's confirmation on nov. 21 and received their request for a medcial test on nov. 24. yet, i'm still worried that there's a chance of getting denied. please enlighten me on this. thanks.

Guys, I got the ECAS updated as Medicals test are received

And according to other members this means my Medical reports are accepted and should be Ok.

So need not worry much about high BP issue, if you have other reports normal.

They will only reject you in case you have major illness like TB, Cancer, Kidney misfuntion or any critical heart condition. They just want to avoid those people who can have major impact on their medical facilities.

That might depend, only my bp was higher than the threshold and I was rejected, assuming that is due to family history of hypertension.
