For ECA which is preferred-WES, CES or ICAS

Hi,
I read many posts about WES for the purpose of dong ECA, but then going through cic website gave me 2 more options for ECA.

Pls suggest which one is better and why?

1. Comparative Education Service – University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies
2. International Credential Assessment Service of Canada
3. World Education Services

CIC doesn't care. Most people use only one, so can't compare. If I were you, I would choose the fastest.

Ha! No idea, actually. Their websites give you an idea, or you can call. We used ICAS and they were fine, but I notice that most people use WES. I have no idea if they assess credentials differently. For instance, ICAS said that my partner's Slovak 5-year Masters' degree was the equivalent of a Canadian 4-year Bachelor's. I have no idea if WES would have said something different, but I doubt it.

Vast Majority of folks use WES for their credential assessment.

Pls can you share how many days it took to get your ECA from WES?

Also, I have done M.Sc., so do I need to do ECA separately for B.Sc. and M.Sc. or If I send documents of both degrees, then It will be done in a single ECA, ie, single payment??

1.for me I received soft copy in 15 days(12th may application received - 27 evaluation completed).
2. I included MSc and bsc transcripts in one envelope.
3.Paid single payment.

For me it took 23 Business days to complete. I only done for my bachelor degree which is my highest degree. I don't know about your case.

Did WES assess your M.Sc. to be a Masters degree?

Or did WES give you a '1 year graduate study' assessment for your M.Sc. which means lesser points for FSW?

I won't recommend using WES to anyone.My degree was evaluated incorrectly. My MS was evaluated as a bachelor (4 years). My friend faced a similar problem and went for CES for revaluation of his degree and they evaluated him correctly. So I will probably do the same now.

Thank you for pointing this out here in the open forum..
So, your friend's MS degree was evaluated by CES correctly..

and what was his/her ECA as per WES as well as CES?

Pls can you share it here?
It will help us all to understand this difference of ECA done by WES and others which I am talking about in this thread.

How much time did CES take for your friend's reevaluation? Many of us are facing this problem of our masters not being evaluated correctly by WES..
