Hi,

I am applying through express entry since I already got an invitation to apply for residency. I am hoping to go to Vancouver, because I heard its software/technology is rapidly progressing. However, on this website: https://www.welcomebc.ca/Work-or-Study-in-B-C/Job-profiles-for-immigrants/Software-Engineer
It states that programming is a regulated field and that I need to be certified which costs over $1000 and has some additional requirements?

My question is, do I need to be certified to find a job? How can I go about finding a job in Canada in a field that appears to be regulated?

Thank you in advance!

As you've read, engineering is a regulated field. Without being certified, you can work in jobs that involved engineering but you cannot call yourself and engineer and there are many jobs you won't qualify for. So the short answer is that without the certification, your job opportunities will be a lot more limited.
