Error in COPR

I have received COPR for both myself and my spouse. All details are correct for both of us ( dob, passport details , name) . I have one typo error , martial status is "single" for me and "married" for my spouse. However, they have written that in both COPRs that spouse is accompanying including name and DOB. I read in this forum that it should be ok to do landing as long as dob, passport details , name are correct. Officer at POE can correct this error. Can you please share your thoughts and experience on this . Regards

Should be alright ...
If you are doing landing with your spouse together, that pretty much proves it is a typo on your COPR ...

The officer will ask you to verify your COPR contents to see mistake existed or not and signature before they process the documents ...

Hi Leam

I am now experiencing the same problem that you had.

i had inquired to Visa office and they replied me that

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

If there are any errors found on your (or one of your dependant’s) Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) form(s) or Permanent Resident Visa(s) such as incorrect personal information (ie. Error in name, date of birth, gender, marital status, etc) or if a photo has been mistakenly attached to the incorrect COPR, you will have to resubmit the COPR and your passport in order for new documents to be issued. Passport(s) and COPR(s) for the principal applicant and all dependents are required to be submitted, even if the error is only found on one person’s document. Please also provide additional passport-sized photos to be placed on your reissued COPR(s).

You should not travel to Canada until you have the correct information on your COPR and visa(s).

Please quote your complete file number on all correspondence with our office. The COPR and your passport should be sent by mail or courier to the High Commission of Canada:

High Commission of Canada
Immigration Section

these the exact the replies to me.

and i did accordingly i resubmitted my COPR & Passport to Visa office and waiting for Updates of Response.

Please share your experience and correction procedure what you did ?

Thank you

If you are still reading this forum, how many days/weeks it took after you returned the COPR to get it back?

As others have mentioned, I would suggest to return CoPR and get them corrected. CIC will not fix minor errors like Original date of entry, last date of entry etc.

However, critical information, such as name, DOB, marital status, dependant names etc, must be correct before you can land.

hi devs,

Actually don't worry. You can get it fixed at the POE. there is an Operational manual update on December 30th which states that the corrections can be done at the border officer with the passport being given the precedence for evidence of the correct information. It is OP548 i think so dont worry and when you land let the officer know without fail.

Correct me if I am wrong, But I have never heard of anyone facing problems in POE because of typos in COPR.
I know you are nervous, all those months waiting, for the COPR, now it shows up - but with wrong information?
??? WHT on earth!!

Its' not a problem, just go to a POE, and see for yourself.
