Enter in Canada with Experied PR Card From US

Hello Every one

I got my Canada PR as on 2012 till valid upto june 2017. I stay in toronto for 5 month only then i went back to my home counrty india.

Again I re enter in june month before experied date in to canada without any problem at Air port.

I would like to know cetain think about Experied PR Card Rules

I can stay 1 year out of 6 years [2012 to 2018] After that I have to Go India to close business and to bring family paremenent to canada

I m planing to go India and visit USA for Business Purpose then I want to Re enter in Canada.

Can I Re enter from USA via Private Car on Experied PR Card and without Travel document ? If yes then what kind of document Canada Immigration Authority Can ask to Re Enter in Canada ?


I have Confirmation of PR letter but its show experied date of 2012 still Can I use that letter ?

You're on the path towards losing your PR status.

To keep your PR status, you must live in Canada for 2 out of every 5 years. So at this time, you don't meet the residency requirement and your PR status is in jeopardy. This means that each time you enter Canada, you are at risk for being reported for failing to meet the residency obligation. If you are reported, you should expect to lose your PR status. If you want to keep your PR status, you should re-enter Canada as soon as you can (or not leave if you are here already) and then stay in Canada without leaving until you meet the residency requirement.

Note that you cannot sponsor anyone for PR unless you meet the residency requirement. If you try to sponsor a family member without meeting the 2 out of 5 year residency requirement, their application will be refused and your PR status will be revoked.

or show them PR Confirmation letter [which have date valid date 2016]

Yes - you can enter Canada by road from the US using private vehicle with your CORP. It's possible you may be reported for failing to meet RO when you enter. If you are reported, you'll have to appear at a hearing and should expect to lose your PR status.

You can enter Canada, but with the expired card and in violation of the residency obligation you should expect to be reported by CBSA and process started to revoke your PR status. Sounds like you were outside Canada mainly for work, meaning if you were reported an appeal would probably be rejected as well.

Also you can't sponsor any of your family while in violation of the residency obligation, or if you're reported and going through appeals.
