Hi,
How many Indians applied for India PCC from Dubai through BLS International? And how long did it take? I applied on 23 Jan 2017 but there is not status update. Appreciate your suggestions and feedback...

Its take 5 working day i applied 01/02/2017 and delivered today 09/02/2017

My other PCCs have photo in it. May be it's the format for Indian PCC coz they stamp even in the passport that PCC has been issued for Canada

We applied Indian PCC on 26th Jan and received it on Feb 9th. Ours also has no photos and we understand that it is standard that way.

Dear Dubai applicants,

I have a question with regard to taxation. Once I get PR, I am planning to send my wife and kid to Canada to maintain PR while I continue to work here in Dubai. My wife might not work initially and might use that time to gain a Canadian educational qualification and during the first 1 or 2 years, I am planning to fund her from here in Dubai.

I am aware that many people from Dubai tend to do this for a little while, save money and then at a later date join the family in Canada.

I have a question based on Canadian tax.

1 - From the day my wife, kid and I " Land" in Canada, I am bound to pay and file taxes in Canada due to the fact that residents are taxed for worldwide income? Correct?

2 - Since my wife and kid are living in Canada, I cannot claim "Non Resident" status for tax purposes even though I am living in Dubai? Is that correct?

3 - Since I have to declare my UAE income, I will have to pay roughly 30% of my income to Canada Revenue Agency? Correct?

4 - Is there anyway, I can under declare my income to pay less tax? How will the CRA know? is there anyway they can find out my actual UAE salary?

5 - IF i deposit money into my wife's Canadian Bank account every month, will she be taxed or is that termed as a Gift and hence not taxed? She wont be working atleast for a year while she studies. Of course the money I send to my wife will be less than what I am declaring as my income.

Please advice on this. Living in UAE, we are not used to tax and suddenly giving 30% of my UAE income living and working in UAE is a big amount!

but when you apply at BLS, I was informed that i will merely be a Polic clearance stamp in the passport.

Hi to all in the house. Good to see this thread.
I just received the PPR email and a bit in a dilemma situation, please advice me.
I was requested to provide a passport of 12 months validity within the next 30 days to Abu Dhabi VO.
My current passport expires in 10 months, and my home country won't renew passports with more than 6 months validity.
Even if I get to convince them that it is an emergency, they can't renew it within 30 days.
What should I do please?
I just planned to submit the passport with 10 months validity with a cover letter stating the above reasons asap.
Is this a good idea or i should start making arrangements to go back home and lobby my authorities to get my passport renewed?
Please someone tell me something.

Just had a quick question for people who have applied fbi pcc from the UAE. Does anyone know how much time does it take the package to reach UAE once dispatched by the fbi? Below are my details.

Package recd by fbi: 26th of Jan 2017
Cc charged: 24th of Feb 2017
Report generated: 10th of March 2017
Report dispatched: 14th of March 2017

All this info was provided by fbi call center and yes they were kind enough to tell me that the fps went through.

I would like to know for someone who has got PR (FSW14) and wants to go to Quebec after landing in Toronto. Consider she has got SIN using a non-Quebec address. Now if she moves to Montreal, should she expect any difficulties like Health Care facilities, Employment benefits, education in future for children (born in non-Quebec). It is understandable that first year she cannot claim any benefits. But how about the bursaries (living expense) that people enjoy while they are in full time education in Montreal? If she stays there for one year, can she claim social benefits for employment and children? Will there be any problem later in future when she will apply for citizenship?
