Hi everyone,

I am planning to have our PR application by DIY to minimize expense. Can anyone help us the step by step process? Also if it is possible that our whole family will be given the PR status at the same time? Do mu husband need to take the IELTS exam first before submitting application? He will be the primary applicant for Permanent Residency.

Thank you guys in advance.

Canada has many different immigration programs. If you are going to DIY, you'll need to research them to understand what the requirements are for each and what the steps are to apply. You can find detailed information here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp

Yes - your husband has to take IELTS first. Yes - your whole family will receive PR at once (i.e. your husband, you and any dependent children).

Thank you very much for your help :) I'll let him take the exam first.

Follow up question for this, as a wife or dependent do I need to take also the IELTS?

Thank you
It depends how you apply / through which program. I would recommend you join the Express Entry section of the forum and read through the questions and answers there - you can do the same in the Provincial Nomination Program section. You're posting to the wrong section of the forum right now. You're also going to need to spend time reading through the information on the CIC web site in detail. Again - you're going to need to do quite a bit of reading and research if you are going to DIY.
