Didn't apply for Health Card after Landing

Hi,

I did a short landing and left canada without apply for Health coverage (Ontario). I received my PR card through a friend. Will there be a problem when I apply for the OHIP later upon my return o Canada?

You need to have been resident in Ontario before you can apply for OHIP so you cannot apply for it on a short landing you will need to wait until you are back and able to meet the residency requirements for OHIP.

No problem at all. Once you return back to Canada permanently, you will need to go through a 3-month waiting period to be eligible for OHIP. You can easily apply anytime during those 3 months.

I'm yet to move to Canada permanently. Is it possible to provide a friend's address in the OHIP application? I could always return to Canada within 3 months and collect the card from my friend. Is this allowed?

Your question is confusing. OHIP has a residency requirement. So you can't simply arrive in Canada, apply for the OHIP card, immediately leave, and then start using the OHIP card as soon as you get back. You need to actually live in Canada to qualify.

OHIP requires physical residency in Ontario. If you aren't physically residing in Ontario, you don't qualify for OHIP or to start the 3 month waiting period.
