counting work experience - FSW

Sir, I have 3 years 5 months of experience in NOC 4011 which is my primary noc. I am filing my case now on 9th dec. 2014.
One of the consultant in india is saying to me that 90% of the chances are there that your case will be converted to express entry since you have more than 3 years of experience and in express entry until you get the job offer from canada, you will not get your file approved.

is it so?? Please please help me in this question.

i am a prospect applying for canada visa. I am unclear about point calculation against my work experience. Below are the details about my employment and the period.

Employment 1


Designation: Production Manager in Rubber Products manufacturing
Duration: April,2010- May,2013 (Production Manager)
July,2008- March,2010 (Production Executive)

NOC- 0911 as per NOC LIST

Employment 2


Designation: Sales Manager Insurance
Duration: June,2013-Present

NOC-0121

I am a Commerce Gratuate from Delhi University(Regular). I intend to apply under NOC 0121 as Sales Manager Insurance for which i have full 1 year continuous experience which makes me eligible. However, i would like to understand if my previous work experience in Rubber Factory as Production Manager would account for total calculation of points against my work experience. Pls guide me on this factor and share how many point would i get for my work experience.

0911 will count towards point calculation. You need to ensure that the 'Duties' you have performed under the 2 designations - Production Manager and Production Executive comprehensively 'match' the duties mentioned under NOC 0911.

Your Consultant is WRONG.

If you apply under FSW - your application will either be processed under FSW or returned IF the program itself is discontinued or the CAP is full for your chosen NOC.

Express Entry has similar but other differentiating requirements in comparison to FSW Program and it sounds completely illogical that your application will be 'converted' from FSW to EE.

However, its your call whether you would like to go ahead with FSW now or wait until EE starts.

0121 > It says middle management position in NOC LIst> so does that mean that if i am a sales manager with 1.5 years of experience, i might not be eligible to apply this as Primary NOC. This is a beginner managerial job(with duties as of meeting business plan and recruiting new agents to develop a team)

0911>tire plant manager>it says 5-10 years of exp required, so will i be able to qualify for the same for point calculation aginst work experience> my job duties matches with those mentioned.

I believe so yes, but that depends on what you are using that experience for. If that exp. is your Primary NOC then it must be 'equivalent' to 1 year full-time work.

As i said before - YOU ONLY NEED TO FOCUS ON THE LEAD STATEMENT AND THE SEGMENT THAT DEFINES THE MAIN DUTIES.

In your case to say the least, you can ignore Employment Requirements, Example Titles and Educational Requirements.

Only Duties need to match. Designation match is NOT REQUIRED. A match for Employment Requirements is NOT REQUIRED.

Hope u would not mind me asking that if u r a migration agent or have other experiences as u seem to have a very indepth knowledge on canada visa process..

I even mailed my queries to Canada High Commission in Delhi,but there seems to be no response.

you mean hours per week doesn't matter?

I never said that.

I said "If that exp. is your Primary NOC then it must be 'equivalent' to 1 year full-time work"

Therefore hours per week is fine. BUT - the number of weeks would have to be more for you as you say your work was part-time.

Hence - 40 hours per week for 1 year would be roughly considered equivalent to lets say 22 hours per week for 20 months. This is just an example.
