Hi guys,

Could someone explain me how calculate points on work experience factor to FSW?

Lets suppose I worked on same NOC as following :
  • 1 year and 6 months in company A
  • 1 year and 6 months in company B
  • 6 months in company C
  • 6 months in company D
How many years would CIC consider as work experience ??
  • 4 years ( 1.5 from company A + 1.5 company B + 0.5 company C + 0.5 company D)
or
  • 3 years ( 1.5 from company A + 1.5 company B )

Please, mention why count 3 or 4 year! ;)

For Points its not just a FLAT calculation of dates.

It also needs to be in one of 50 Eligible NOCs (for FSW1).

They will also need to verify Experience Letters provided by your employers to match your present/past duties with the NOC you choose.

Assuming all the criteria is met - your experience will equal 4 years and give you 13 points.

what about different nocs in the same company, which are all continuous?
Can I add them together by month?
even if one of the noc is less than one year?

all the nocs are under skill 0, A, B.

There are 2 things - first is Eligibility and second is Points.

To be 'eligible' you need 1 Year Continuous full time or equivalent in part time experience in 1 of the 50 eligible NOCs. Underline the word "continuous".

Remaining all Skill Type 0, A and B (if I can recall them correctly) will fetch you points in cumulative. 6 months, 8 months, 2 years, they can all be added but 1 of your exp. must be full time for 1 year in continuity.

Thanks friend.

so my primay noc 2171 meets the eligible requirement and I can claim 4 years to get points, if I am right?

for work experience they count number of weeks? with fulltime (30 hrs)

I have worked for 12 months and 21 days for one employer as NOC 0911 and second employer for 11 months 14 days.

will they count as 12 months (1560 hrs) +11 months (1430 hrs) + 5 weeks (150 hrs) = 3040 (2 years)?

thank you in advance

To be on the safe side, I would never calculate Total experience based on 'hours' simply because no body knows the exact equation CIC uses to calculate 'hours'. Do they include weekends or public holidays - nobody can tell.

Therefore I will go simply by calendar dates which in your case is 12 months 21 days + 11 months 14 days. This makes it little over 2 years in total.

The first employer's experience is more than 1 year in continuous which makes you eligible. The second one, in cumulative with the first, will give you the points.

Hello Guys,

I'm all set for sending my documents but suddenly there seems to be a hiccup. I have worked for my first company for 11 months and 26 days. This is clearly mentioned in my joining and release date. Again I immediately joined my new employer by in a week as I was switching jobs. Is this an issue? Should I specify this in a cover letter? And can I count 11 months and 26 days as 1 year?

What exactly is the 'issue' you are trying to imply here ?

1 out of 50 'eligible' NOCs can be used for eligibility as Primary NOC. In your case either 4011 or 2174 (although you cannot use 2174 now as it is capped).

ALL remaining experiences which fall in the 50 eligible NOCs OR Skill Type 0/A/B can be used for points along with the Primary NOC.

Therefore - you can use 4011 for eligibility (3 years) and 2174 for cumulative points (1 year).

The total points you can claim will be for 4 years (3+1).

HELLO

i am a prospect applying for canada visa. I am unclear about point calculation against my work experience. Below are the details about my employment and the period.

Employment 1

Designation: Production Manager in Rubber Products manufacturing
Duration: April,2010- May,2013 (Production Manager)
July,2008- March,2010 (Production Executive)

NOC- 0911 as per NOC LIST

Employment 2

Designation: Sales Manager Insurance
Duration: June,2013-Present

NOC-0121

I am a Commerce Gratuate from Delhi University(Regular). I intend to apply under NOC 0121 as Sales Manager Insurance for which i have full 1 year continuous experience which makes me eligible. However, i would like to understand if my previous work experience in Rubber Factory as Production Manager would account for total calculation of points against my work experience. Pls guide me on this factor and share how many point would i get for my work experience.
