Sometimes they make mistakes. It is very unfortunate, but there is not much you can do. I am not sure what you are hoping to learn via the web form or calling IRCC. They won't be able to tell you anything more than what was included in the letter sent back to you. All you can really do is send it back in and include a letter of explanation pointing out that the passport was there all along.
I mostly want to make sure there isn’t something that I’m missing before I send it off to the two month void of silence. I don’t want to waste more time, and if there really is something I need to change. I just wish I could talk to them and figure it out. From what I gather on here, I guess the only way is for me to mail it back with a detailed cover letter explaining what happened and plead that if there’s something else wrong that they contact me instead of mailing it back and forth. It gets costly. Most especially in time since I’m unable to work.

I did include mine. We submitted both. They just sent a letter highlighting the sponsor’s passport. But it definitely was there.
that is really unfortunate. if your spouse is a Canadian citizen, then the Canadian passport showing the date of issue and all that, should have been enough. If that is the only thing highlighted, then yes, an explanation letter along with the application would be my best suggestion as well. Unless someone else has been through the same thing and suggest something better. Also, it would be best to just order the paperwork like how it lists on the document checklist so that they don't miss anything, if you did not do that already. Sorry about all this. Hope it processes quickly the second time around!!

Yeah, I actually did put it in the exact order. I’m pretty meticulous and followed everything exactly so that this wouldn’t happen. Oh, well, I guess that’s pointless.
