Hi me and my family just arrived in Calgary last June 2012. My wife and I are both RNs in Dubai and Philippines. We heard it will take us long time for applying as RN in CARNA, Calgary Alberta because you have to take IELTS or CELBAN. There are verification forms to be send back in PRC, nursing school and employers where you worked as RN. You should also passed the SEC assessment one time. Not to mention all the charges for IELTS, registration, assessment and the course fees. But it pays double than an LPN
Some of our friends and relatives advised us to take LPN then do bridging to RN, which doesnt require IELTS or CELBAN no verification forms, no SEC assessment.
I just need advised on which path should we take, LPN-RN or just go directly to an RN course.
Many Thanks!

Hi, Dexter612,

You have experience and registration in your home country and last working place. You should try for RN. If you need to do LPN it will also take almost same time and then you have to go for LPN t RN bridging program. All details are listed on the CARNA’s website please check the following links:

Hi, BQS

Yes I do,
Yes your brother can be your employer, if he is in need to hire the employee and if the can fulfil the requirement of HRSDC and if he can get the LMO for you.
He can’t get LMO in any nursing category. You need to check the profession in which your brother can get easily LMO.
If he is married and have small kids (need care at home and parent are working) may be He can sponsor you as care giver for his kids? When you are in Canada you can go for LPN and or RN registration and Job. http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/home.shtml

Hope that helps,

Hi BQS,
If you mean application of immigration, they may verify with your last employer to check your employment status and legal residency status in KSA.
If you mean the CNO application for registration they will send you the form B3/B4 to get employer’s signs and also they will ask you to get sign from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS).
If you was not registered with SCHS , than avoiding any hassle you better not to mention your KSA work experience in your CNO applicant.
Back ground check will not check the employment status or registration. They may check & verify the criminal record only.

Hope that helps,

For an immigration with regards to my case, does it mean i don't have the chance to be approve inspite of no criminal records? And one more thing they are stating that once no longer residing in KSA they won't give PCC.
