Dear Members,

If I arrive in Manitoba Canada, as a PR, complete all the necessary registrations, landing docs etc, and inform the immigration officials, that my health status has changes since I did my mandatory medical, and that I am now pregnant. Will i qualify for the province's health benefits and cover, or will there be a 3 month waiting period, or even exclusions from the onset?

Any info or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi..
Similar kind of query even I posted, but not specifically for Manitoba.
May I ask you, you plan to travel during which month of your pregnancy?

There is absolutely no need to inform immigration about being pregnant.

Arriving in Manitoba, as a newcomer, you should get health care right away.

There are no exclusions or pre-existing conditions with health care in Canada. You would have the same right to coverage as anybody else in your province.

However, keep in mind that all provinces have their own eligibility requirements, often it is staying in your province at least 6 months a year or 6/12. If you do not end up meeting that requirement, they could retroactively cancel your health care and backcharge you for what they've paid for you.
