Hello,
My visitor visa was approved at the New York consulate last week. I included a prepaid UPS envelope for my passport to be returned to me in Boston. The timeline goes like this:
Apr 28: New York VAC recieves the passport, confirms the UPS return tracking number
May 2- Visa approved, passport in transit to VAC
May 3- Application processing complete- passport in transit to applicant.: NO tracking updates on UPS
May 9- passport still in transit!- No tracking information from UPS
I've called the VAC twice and they said they sent the passport on May 4. I called UPS and they said they have no record of having picked up a package with that tracking number, and they would normally do this within a day's time of requesting a pickup.
Can I go to the New York VAC in person and check if the package is still with them? Any chances they sent it by a different service such as USPS instead of using the prepaid envelope?
Any inputs would be very helpful.
