Hi Folks,
I over stayed in US for more than 3 years.Now I am in the process to applying work permit in Canada.I am applying through a agent and agent is telling that there is high chances of visa refusal because of the overstay in USA.is it so?.I have obtained FBI clearance also .Please advice me , will my overstay history affects the process.

Hi

You have pretty much no chance of approval. By overstaying in the US, you showed that you have no respect for the immigration laws of other countries. IRCC would have no reason to think you wouldn't do the same thing here in Canada.

I would say it depends how recent the overstay is. If this happened 10 years ago and you've return to your country and established strong ties there - probably a decent change of being approved. If the overstay is quite recent - that will change the picture.

I returned to my country in 2012 and married ,having kids also and some properties also in this case what do you think?

Each case varies because i know people who have overstayed in England and got approved for USA visa
