Hi, I just wondered if anyone has experience or is able to advise - I'm currently out of Canada to help care for my family member who's unwell back home. It's most likely I'll be out of Ontario for over the allowed period of 212 days which will mean my OHIP healthcare cover will no longer be valid. When I called Service Ontario, I was told I cannot extend my period of absence if I've not been in Canada for at least 2 years - I obtained my PR last year, but that I'd need to reapply again when I return to Canada. I was wondering if anyone knows if this can be appealed if you've got valid reason such as family illness? Any advice would be much appreciated.
