All I got this week was a notification that ECAS removed a line from their update. And that line was about the medical being received! And the carroll notification worried me even further by stating that this is RARE! Thankfully, many people had this happen to them and it is apparently a glitch in the system. Someone even went as far as calling the CIC office and they said that we shouldn't worry if ECAS is still stating "still in progress". Nice, eh?

Well ECAS really doesn't mean much to me anymore since their (London High Commission) website says something about it not changing until the process is complete ie: Sponsorship approved or Visa Obtained.... I figure we will see an email before that ever changes again!!

Yesterday was unusually quiet (e.g. no updates on eCas for anyone, really).

Ahh well, I guess there's always next week...

I would say that the only people getting ecas updates at the moment will be the people waiting for their sponsorship decision made or going in progress for PR app (DEC/JAN).  The rest of us waiting for PPR will get an email before seeing anything on ECAS, I haven't heard of anyone yet having ECAS change before they get their email for that.  Even following the time lines for other people are skewed as people like myself and Rob Barrett have the simplist cases (no divorces, no additional countries lived in, no kids, long term relationships,) and we are way out of whack waiting ... and really that is all we can do unfortunately!

If ECAS updates, well that is almost as likely as winning the lotto max these days!! Grin

Does that apply for us Buffalo applicants as well?  I haven't done too much historical research, but it sounds like you have.  Do most of us get PPR before eCas is ever updated?

I am just going by what I have see here.  Mexicana is the first person I have ever seen here that got Decision made in PR and not seen an email.  However I am going through London.  What I have seen on here (in the September thread) is that people seem to get a PPR email, a document later follows and ECAS changes after that - HOWEVER, I completely feel that it all depends on the IO that is working on your case.  I have never seen medical results have been received on my ECAS, however I know they are doing back ground checks which are completed after they receive the medicals..  Yes it is a tool to follow up on yoru status however I don't put any weight in it, actual communication by email or post will have the message you are looking for in the end.  I used to sit and wait for emails and ECAS changes, now I don't bother, things seem to change when you least expect it and if I am sitting waiting it will never happen LOL

Oh just to add, I used to follow the London timeline on here... I should have had a PPR for my boyfriend 3 weeks ago... go figure

Received an email last night requesting my passport!

We're already living here in Canada (I'm on WHP) but applied through the Sydney, Australia office, so I'm sending it to them today. As soon as it comes back, we'll head down and flagpole. Hurrah!

Ohh, I didn't want to hear that!  It just doesn't seem fair at all how they do it and I would be so frustrated if I was in your shoes.  Hang in there.  I really hope you guys hear something soon!

Totally do it, there are a few people on this forum whose passports have landed in the wrong continent and registered mail only covers tracking until your package leaves the country!!    Good Luck!!
