Sponsorship for our application was approved yesterday (oct 26) , thanks for the tip about getting through their hotline. It's already been sent to Mexico city and we should receive the happy news in the mail. |

My common-law partner just opened our letter from Mississauga which confirmed that our sponsorship application was approved and file transferred to London on 14th October Could I be re-added to the list please? I seem to have dropped off the one above |

Thanks bonbon9! Rob.Barrett we have pretty much identical timelines!!! Let's hope London works quickly for us Are you applying Common-Law? I have a feeling mine may take a while as I have been living in Canada for just over a year on a TWP - apparently these applications can take longer if they have to do police checks etc in Canada......I hate the waiting game! Best of luck to you - keep me posted on your progress!! |

Yes also going under a Common Law - spent a year on a year work permit, returned to the UK in August. are you a fellow BUNACer? i cant see it being a big problem that we lived in Canada for a year - the RCMP cant be that slow! Fingers crossed we'll here something soon. |

Hopefully not! But mine's a bit complicated in that I technically still hold a valid work visa for Canada until December 28th this year (as an intra-company transferee from a company headquarted in London) but as we speak I'm back in England and not working. In July I had to change conditions to change locations from Ottawa to Toronto and then my boss (who was based in England) resigned and they decided to close our Canadian operation altogether! I've just found out this week that CIC have issued my new visa to work in Toronto but my job doesn't really exist anymore so I'm only allowed to volunteer over there! Just concerned that they'll start looking into all of those complications as it seems so confusing! - probably just being paranoid, can't really see how it would affect this application as it's unrelated!!! I will be so glad when this whole process is over! Good luck to us all |
