Some help please. I emailed the cic to check if they had received our reciept for the ROPR fee. This was the response.

Best of luck - it'll be coming to you soon. We received an email over three weeks ago saying "we'll contact you shortly with the next stage" THREE WEEKS is considered shortly - I guess we all get used to waiting with this game don't we? I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed for you for good news this week! Keep the faith!  It does appear that they've not quite settled into this updated procedure. Oh well, I have my fingers crossed it'll be straight COPR and it will arrive this week - it will, it will, it will! I was going to email them at the end of the week if I haven't heard anything and see what they say. As you say their definition of 'shortly' is very different to ours! |

Yep. They only ask for the payment once they are ready to issue the visa/COPR. Once they have confirmation you'll get your COPR/PPR. |

That is great for you trickydicky16. My husband and I are hoping we hear soon, we have lived apart for so long! We have heard nothing new since January 5th. What should we expect next, can anyone tell us?

Thanks for the info. Do you know how long it usually takes for them to confirm they have received the payment. Although we aren't planning to go until May but I'd like to start booking flights etc.

I would say that the only thing you can expect with any certainty is to wait......and then when you've done waiting, just wait a bit more! If I have learnt anything from studying the spreadsheet, tracking other peoples progress with similar timelines to mine and reading the updates on here, it is that pretty much every case it different in terms of timings and methods of communications. There is also still no clear procedure on whether you will be issued COPR straight away, or if you will be asked to submit photocopies of your passport, as posters in recent weeks have confirmed both methods are still in use. |

You can carry upto 10 000 CAD with no problem if you wanna carry more you have to inform border officials. |
