Thank you all so much! We may book a ticket and then cancel it if we're lucky and he gets COPR.
Yasin - so glad it went well. Must have been nerve racking going in there!

I know this question has probably been asked a million times before but generally how long is it after the sponsor has been approved before you see any updates relating to the sponsored person on ecas such as in process?
edit* Just has a look on the spreadsheet and it seems pretty hit and miss.

Is it being sent back to you in England? The PPR letter states expect to be without your passport for 6 weeks. Recently they have been taking about 2-3 weeks to be returned to people in the UK and slightly longer if you are in Canada or anywhere else. Be patient

If you send it in now, you'll be grand. Honestly, there was no hope for me realising because I thought the lawyer had taken care of everything (she paid all the fees up front for us). She has since moved to a different firm. The first we heard was when we got a letter from our new lawyer saying it hadn't been paid. The most frustrating thing is that we don't know if this is a mistake (others in the thread have paid it, only to be asked for it again later on), or if she really didn't pay it. Grrr!
However, lucky for you, I did learn in my frantic 'does an RPRF mean we're getting close?!' googling that it is "best" to send it either when you apply or 'anytime before they ask for it.' So, yes, you can TOTALLY send it now and everything will be fine. Just pay it online, print off the receipt, enter the payer's details and Client ID Number and attach a note that explains you're paying it now because you didn't realise you could pay prior to the request (that's if you're worried it will get lost/they won't know what to do with it when they get it). Worst case scenario, London will send the RPRF request when the time comes and you can reply directly to the VO with an email and attachment showing it's already been paid. It seems others have done so when they received an RPRF in error and London has gotten back to them fairly quickly about it!
Okay...receipt is in the mail to Mississauga, and I've sent a pdf attached to a case specific enquiry. Hopefully this will thwart any plans of anyone delaying our applications!

I wish we'd been as lucky! Faxed the receipt the day we received the RPRF, emailed a copy the next morning and mailed it yesterday evening. I have staggered my delivery options to ensure maximum bombardment. Hopefully CPC-M will get it to London faster that way ...

I can only tell our experience. I was approved Dec. 20th and on January 5th it said application received and medicals received for my husband. I think, or my guess, is that it takes at least 2 months in London for the decision to be made. As far as things showing up on ecas, that is not predictable.

Got my COPR paperwork through the post today, form is dated 16th Jan 2012 and was mailed out on 18th Jan 2012 , received her in Alberta 27th Jan. Just need to figure out what border to present myself to. Have been told, am still looking for confirmation, that as I am in physically in Canada, I can go to a Govt office and achieve same ends. Duty rumour is that there is one in Lethbridge I can use. Am looking into it and will report back. For any other Brits doing the immigration process, be advised. If you have a military background, London will now ask you for a Military Police check as well as the Civ Pol one done through the ACPO. This is a new thing but very easy to obtain,(And it`s free). I would advise others to get this check done before they ask for it, as not knowing this put my application back by 3 months, didn`t help that the High Commission lost the first copy they were sent!!!!!!!!!!! So thanks to all the people on here who support each other and let you know that you are not alone and that although you have to jump through hoops it is ultimatly worthwhile.
All the best to those still waiting.
