Welcome to the forum. You also have an unhealthy chocolate habit - It has been a very long while since I ate a twirl

I send food parcels to my sister twice a year. Lots of chocolate (she's diabetic so has the special stuff from Thorntons) but Christmas pudding is the thing she misses most. My nephews ask for marmite, twiglets, French Fancies and toffee crumble. I'm not too bad with chocolate, it's things like piccalilli and monster munch that I'll miss...oh, and Cadburys Wispa, so good!!
Your post made me laugh When I was living in the UK I was missing things on the other side of the pond as you are now. However, not sure where you are living (I'm in Ottawa) but I managed to find marmite in Independent/Lawblaws/Hartman's (whatever you want to call it) - which made my hubby super happy. I personally think that stuff is disgusting. Also, there are quite a few British shops around such as this http://scottishandirishstore.com/mysitecaddy/site3/ which will help you with your cravings.

Ring-o-los are better than hula hoops And I too miss Monster Munch - especially beef flavour! And it's weird what you miss. When I lived in the UK I missed poutine! And I RARELY ate it when I was in Canada! Heart attack on a plate just wasn't my style...

As peter kay says, hob nobs are the marines of the biscuit world. Delicious too. Although I am partial to a custard cream.

Ooh penguins! Have you tried biting off opposite corners then putting one end in tea? Suck on the other end until the tea reaches your mouth and then shove the whole bar in your mouth. It sounds awful (& childish ) but it is sooo good!!! Hahaha Nicki we used to do that all the time when we were living in Australia, with Tim Tams which are basically just the Australian version of penguins! And for some reason I never thought to do it with penguins!! So good!!! Baloo - can you let me know how much British chocolate they have in the Ottawa Bulk Barns, I'm going to be there this weekend visiting my boyfriend's family, might stop by!

The thing that confuses me is why S&I stock curry sauces when they are available in the regular shops? Baloo - can you let me know how much British chocolate they have in the Ottawa Bulk Barns, I'm going to be there this weekend visiting my boyfriend's family, might stop by!
When I get back, I will let you know. Random thought, there is a sweet shop in North Bay that sells Brit' sweets and other things.
