Always finding new things to worry about! Smiley

Has any of the people getting their PPR fairly fast previously lived in Canada? I´m wondering if having a RCMP background check will slow things down?

I lived in Canada for few years on a study permit, never had any problem with the police but if I´m understanding things correctly then there is always a RCMP check if you have lived in Canada.

We got asked to send the receipt.... sent it via email and was told it was sufficient. Our PRR came about a week after the request.

Congratz to everyone on getting their passports back! Great to hear that London is working hard! Cheesy

I lived in Canada on a working holiday visa, and whilst they haven't asked me for an RCMP certificate the "routine background checks" that they're apparently conducting are taking forever.  Whilst I don't know for certain, I think there's a good chance that my previous residency in Canada is responsible for the delay.  We will get our CAIPS notes emailed through on monday, so that should shed some light on it.

Good luck.

We drove to the Peace Arch last night to land. Traffic was bad because of the holiday tomorrow, but I heard it would be worse today, so we thought we'd get it over with.

Firstly, I had to remind my partner to bring his passport. When we got there his tried to go back through Canadian Immigration before going through US Immigration. He was then told off by the Immigration officer and we were sent back (he then almost drove past the officer trying to wave us back to the US Immigration who got quite irate about it).

When we got to US immigration they waved us through and made us park and go into an office where we had to fill out green forms to enter the US. We were given the option of paying $6 (US) for a 3 month visa waiver, but we hadn't prepared for this because we had no US money on us (we weren't planning to spend any time in the US) and no credit card. Luckily a nice Canadian swapped out 20 CAD for 20 USD and we were able to pay. Thank goodness for helpful Canadians.

We then decided to drive around Blaine and see what it was like, however, there are no Tim Hortons in Blaine, which we found very distressing, so we headed back to Canada after about 10 mins.

Going back through Canadian Immigration we were told to park and go into an office there, my partner ran on in ahead without waiting for me and the boys. When we got inside the building he was already talking to an immigration officer and trying to land us without us being there. lol.

The only problem we then has was that the shipping list my dad had sent of all my stuff didn't have values on it, so I had to write down what I thought all my junk was worth, then add it all up. The whole process took about 30 mins. We were welcomed to Canada and just as we were about to leave another Officer ran up and asked if we'd been give the pins. So we all got a Canada pin.  Cool

I want to thank everyone who has been so helpful here and given so much support and advice. I know the process would have been 100 times worse and far more stressful if I hadn't found this forum.  Smiley

Going slightly mad (and posting for no other reason than that).  I think the spreadsheet is making me crazy.  Looks like the London VO has been pretty quiet since the 8th . . .
