Newsflash - got a reply to my email!

I can relax now safe in the knowledge thay that have the right email address at least, and nothing's gone wrong.  Just a matter of waiting for these "routine background enquiries" to complete.  I expect because I've lived in Canada previously they're doing RCMP checks which can take a long time.  Looks like I'll spending Christmas in the UK then Sad

"Thank you for your recent e-mail.

Please be advised that you have not yet been sent a passport request. We are currenlty awaiting the results of routine background enquires."

Married couple no kids, she Canadian, me British, applying outland.  Both live and work in the UK, married 4 years, together 9 years.  Should be straightforward....surely?

Just wanted to let you all know that I received my passport back, via Royal Mail "signed for", with Visa!  Visa was issued on 31st October - so the good news is, for anyone posting their passport, it only took 2 and half weeks for mine to be returned!   Cheesy

Good luck everyone!

Scan them and then you can attach docs as pdfs using the online web form.

Or you could attach them to the reply email?

Did you send it from Canada? Were you able to see if they used Express post for their return of the passport, or were they using regular mail? Cheers.

No, I sent it from Scotland - I'm still in the UK.  They used Royal Mail Recorded Signed For... not sure if this differs for international
Good luck with yours

Lots of good news today! That's cheered me up no end.  Cool

MDSB have been on a similar timeline, so hopefully my passports will be back any day now. They have a to come all the way to Vancouver though, so it will take a little longer than being posted back to Scotland.

Just a quick couple of questions. Firstly, we got confirmation from the postal tracking that the application had reached its destination. Is it at this point that the e-cas should say application received or does is it supposed to say that once they actually starting looking at it. Am a bit worried and confused. We sent the app Aug22 and was confirmed it reached its destination the 26th. I know our time is coming soon. Just wondering if I've mucked up or something!

Also, has anyone out their applied for their kids Canadian citizenship? If so, how long did they take to come back? London forwarded them on a week after the application was received and I know quite a few people got them back quite quickly.

Thanks guys.

I got my boy's citizenship back within about 4-5 weeks from what I can remember.  I was shocked at how quickly they came

Hi pinklady, can you add me to the spreadsheet please.

We sent in the application on July 29, it was received on August 4 and my boyfriend was approved as a sponsor on October 11.
I donīt think we have gotten any AOR and my status still is "application received".

We are in a common-law relationship, lived together for 3 years and have one son.

Hope this goes fast for us and all of you Smiley
