Hi,

sorry for the late reply, yes there is a lot going on at our side, VO has contacted me to provide them with original marriage certificate withing 60 days, just because of a stupid mistake we are suffering this bad, Religious person who conducted our marriage ceremoney was not registered by the marriage registration department and we were told that he was, I had no idea that we are not legally married until we are registered at the marriage registration department and there is a complete process to follow, we are getting married again on 14th of nov Cheesy my wife is travelling to london at the end of this month will be staying with me for the rest of the process,

I dont blame anyone but myself for that stupid mistake and that why I just listened to someone who actually didnt know anything!!!

most probably that would be the unique case of its kind Cheesy (embarrased) but just in case letting you guys know since people on this forum has been a big big help!

Thanks! I was looking for a phone number but couldn't find one! I am willing to fly there immediately if that would make the process any quicker. Will call them today. Thanks bunches.

Just called them and they said it now takes at least 9 weeks. Sad

Embarrassed  That's rubbish!  Hopefully things will suddenly pick up speed.  I'll keep my fingers crossed, or, as you say in Sweden - Hold the thumbs - hålla tummarna  Wink...  Chin up and try to keep positive...   Smiley

Just sent off my passport to London (from Canada). The last waiting stage begins!! In the email they said to not plan any travels the next 6 weeks. Is that how long it usually takes or can I expect it earlier? Feels so strange not to have my passport!

Alasken, CONGRATULATIONS!! Very pleased for you!

Also, can I personally say THANK YOU for this post - I'm having no updates in ecas and was getting paranoid about it. Hearing that you got no AOR either really reassures me. Very glad that I'm not the only one whose ecas is not changing! Good luck for your landing!  Grin

Thank you. I actually just checked ecas again and it still only says 'application received' lol.

I sent my passport to the UK on the 11th of October and it was signed for on the 17th.

I'm not even to start looking for it's return for another couple of weeks. I shall let you all know when it finally arrives back.

@ Mittens & Chrischris, I can't believe you two haven't even heard anything yet. If it were me I'd at the very least send them an email asking if they've sent me any correspondence.  Sad

Yes, total rubbish it is. I tried to flirt and all on the phone, but no luck. The guy said there was nothing he could do to speed it up. Sad

Hi everyone

I'm new to this forum, someone on British Expats told me of it and the fabulous spreadsheet!  I don't know if I qualify to be added to it, but this is my progress so far.

Application arrived in Missisauga - 30 August 2011

Oh and that's it!  Like others I am waiting for my sponsor to be approved, and keep checking the cic website every week to see where they are up to next.  Slowly but surely they edge ever closer as today they have updated to say they are up to 8th August applications.  It's now up to 70 days.  Boo.  Do they ever speed up, or just always slow down?!?!  So by my estimation I'll likely hear something week commencing 7th November.  And then some more waiting begins! Hi VictorFoxtrot... welcome to the forum!
The spreadsheet is below all my posts. I will certainly add you!

It is so annoying watching the sponsor approval time creep up and up. It was around 33 days when I went through it, and it stayed that way for a few more months then up it rose. Hopefully then another couple of weeks and you'll get some news.

Look on the brightside.... i around 6 months you'll probably have the PPR!

Don't worry, it takes time putting the application together. Once you finally post it, you will feel a whole lot better.

Will you and your SO be waiting the process out together?

Don't panic, it's still not entirely awful - as Pinklady says, PR within 6 months is still entirely possible, maybe even less.  I'd originally estimated that I'd get my PPR by mid Dec (that was when sponsor approval was taking roughly a month, but reckon now it is more likely to be +1 month on this because of the increase in time of the sponsor part.  So long as the peeps in London are still working swiftly away which they seem to be, I am keeping my fingers crossed it should be completed in 5.  I'd even booked a Christmas trip back to the UK for 3 weeks in the hope I could do the passport drop whilst there, but I don't think it'll happen.  Still it is a good excuse to have an extended trip back home and overindulge on the mince pies. Cheesy
