I've read loads of threads saying people couldnt log into there ecas to 2-3 weeks, we got spousal approval on Wednesday 12th October and today Sunday 16th October i've managed to log into it. Is that odd? Thanks guys I could about 3 days after ours as well using both mine and my hubbys numbers

Ok! Its out of our hands as of today! We sent it off at last....I was more nervous than breathing a sigh of relief though! We sent it signed for - so we cant really track it to see it definately arrived - what is the first thing you hear about once sending it out? Do you get an email? or do we have to check this Ecas thing...? Thanks once again for everyones help and advice.... the waiting begins.... Hey AnnaMcG, Congrats on getting it posted at last, what a relief! The first thing you'll hear will be a letter or email from Mississauga with the decision on the sponsor approval. Ecas will only become available once a file has been created for you which is when they start processing it I believe. But processing for the 1st stage approval doesnt take very long at all. So you're looking at around 69 days before you hear anything at all. Good luck!

Hi pink lady hope your well. Been following thread for a while as I am in the same boat. My wife was born in Canada and I was born in the uk. We both live in London. We sent paperwork (incl medicals and police check) on the 15th July 2011. We have sponsorship approval on the 20th september and been sent to London VO and now status for 2nd part online says application received. When I click on link it says they recieved application on 15th July. Is this possible as Mississauga recieved the paperwork on 15th July. We both have jobs lined up too so hoping case is fairly simple.
Any gut feels on when I meet hear something and will it be medical recieved?
Thanks in advance!!!

Hi guys, I have a question or you, Im going to visit my hubby on the 24th, as for evidence that I intend to return if my application fails, both me and my hubby have return tickets for end of feb. He still has PR in the UK and thought if we tell the IO that if it fails or i have to return in feb that we would both be going as my hubby has PR in the UK still. Do you think that would help in proving I dont intend to stay and return when I have to. It important as I did have a depature order 10 years ago ( I left within the 30 days)and but havent been back since, so I have that, a lease on my flat. My daughters , parents, granddaughters, and siblings are all going to be in the UK. Also we will have the email showing proof that we got the sponsoship, the payment reciept for the fees, our marriage certificate. Any advice?

Find it odd that Missisauga and London recieved it on the same day.

Its seems to be a glitch with everyones ecas at the mo. London did not receive it on the same day. They receive it after Mississauga have made their decision and have forwarded the application to London. Around 10 days after decision made. The next update on ecas will be 'medical results received' followed by 'we started processing your application on xxx' and finally 'a decision has been made on your application....etc...' Although all that depends on the case officer looking after your file, they may or may not update ecas. Good luck!

bt1975, really sorry to hear your sad news...
just wanted to respond also regarding transporting your cats i flew on the same flight as my dog and cat but immigration aren't aware of that fact, if they asked you'd have to tellthem of course so once i passed through immigration (which was the easy part) you have to go to mississauga to collect pets from the cargo
then go to another customs office another taxi ride away the guy there did ask what my status in canada was i told him tourist he didn't ask why i had brought my pets, just stamped, took my money and off i went BACK to the cargo to retrieve pets...
good luck!

Was just wondering whether London send the letters via special delivery, as I had DHL call to say I have a package?

Don't think so. I think letters are just by regular mail and they send passports with registered mail, but royal mail all the same. I reckon you've just got a parcel
