What is an average wait time for your passport to return from London? I am in Canada so obviously that will add a few days onto the whole thing. My passport has been in London 2 weeks tomorrow. I keep hoping the postman will deliver it haha

Recently.... from the day a passport arrived in London, UK - to the return day in Canada - 18 days.

Hey guys,

Congrads to all of you who got their PPR and good luck to all of us who are still waiting!!! What a relief it will be!

Seems we are finally reaching the PPR part of the game. My wife just had her interview in Stockholm and everything went well. She then was told to expect a PPR from London office within the next 5 days or so.

I was just a bit confused about the mailing part as my wife will be returning to Canada in a few days and she will still be officially a visitor here (of course) but wants her passport to be returned to her in Canada. Has anyone sent their passport to London from Canada where the embassy returned it with visa only to their "official" home country address instead of Canada?

So - where WILL you land?

I've thought long and hard and since we went to all this trouble with the PR application it might be easiest to land in Canada after all! More specifically the Blackpool / Champlain border. Might go to Plattsburgh for a few hours and come back.

I don't have many possessions I ditched 90% when we came to Canada six months ago. I basically have my clothes and a laptop (had my phone, ipod, wallet, some clothing stolen from a locked locker at a swimming pool I train at a few weeks ago!) so when I land my laptop will already be in Canada and I don't plan on bringing it to the border so should I list it on any of this goods lists. Also since I'll just have the clothes on my back with me at the time do I need to fill out those forms at all?

I landed at Ogdensburg, only 115 miles away - so close in Canadian terms Smiley

Strange as it may seem, small as it is, Ogdensburg has an Aldi store.
I hadn't seen one of those for ages. I love the chocolate and their American beans.

The only issue you may have is if your laptop is new and you travel outside of Canada with it at a later time.
I know one person who ended up paying tax on a pro camera, because they had not declared it as good to follow.
The chances of this happening are very rare. However I am risk averse, so I would add it to the goods accompanying list (with serial number) and take it with you.

Another option would be, check with the CBSA to see if you can declare it and not present it.

Absolutely amazingly our situation is still a saga, Canada Post gave now lost my passport!!!!!!!! There's no sign of it from being scanned when initially handed over to be posted, we really can't believe it and are now having to look into what to do next...feel gutted...

It should have arrived but it hasn't even left the place it was posted and both Canada post and fedex(who get the package to handle externally) are lost to it's whereabouts!!!!

Love the Aldi chocolate also! Are you planning on going to Ogdensburg for a few hours or flagpoling? Just wondering as to wether to reveal to the US border people that your reason to travel is anything other than visiting Ogdensburg for a few hours to do some shopping. They always make me nervous at US borders, not the most welcoming bunch!

and   @  lnl, wow I really hope it turns up ASAP. That was my biggest worry when I got the PPR.

You must be joking! Well I know your not. Holy crap!
I couldn't imagine this even happening. Where the heck is the happy ending!
I really hope it turns up, or just arrives there. Wishing you good luck at some point finally.
