Well, CIC will only count the 4 years before you apply for your citizenship, so at best you can only use days from the two years before getting PR. Each day in Canada counts as half a day towards the citizenship count, but you can only claim a maximum of 365 days towards your "pre PR" total. To get the full 365 days for those 2 years, you must have never left Canada during that time except for day trips (nothing overnight). Be aware that all days spent outside Canada count against you when you are talking about citizenship. I keep proof of all my travel outside of Canada, tickets, bookings, photos etc - It's just like gathering info for PR ! If I made it too confusing, tell me - it is late here So for example I have been in Canada 6 months before I will land on a visitor visa, so that counts as 3 months?

That is what I understand it to be. Have a look at the FAQ link on this page : http://services3.cic.gc.ca/rescalc/resCalcStartNew.do?&lang=enIn my case I calculate that I accumulated 337 days before my PR, it all helps

The feeling of sending off your application will be so good! Then comes the unbearable wait to hear anything once the application goes to london! However, its all worth it! Best of luck with your application!

Hi All,
Really excited we called CIC and they did receive our application on the 8th June. So Canada post did deliver it but did not trace it!!! what a relief. We got our letter on the 17th July.
Please can you up-date the spreadsheet PinkLady. I did try and do it myself without success.
So what happens now? Please share.......
Thanks

From there - you can most likely start checking your application on ECAS or sometime soon using the client id number located on the letter you recieved....from there you can get updates on the status of your application(not always the most reliable mind you....) Your application will be transferred to the visa office, then you get to start the lovely waiting game! Welcome to the game! lol

Not sure if this is anything to worry about really. But I just read that changing your address on e-cas doesn't in fact change your address in your file at the VO. I moved on July 1st to a new address and we updated our e-cas assuming that that would be okay. Not sure there is any point in me faxing it now since I've already got my PPR and sent off the self-addressed envelope? (to my new address obviously)

No, probably no point in changing it. I assume you also put your new address on the updated information form? And when you land you will give them a canadian address for the PR card to be sent to. I don't know if you're already in Canada. Either way, there doesn't seem much point in faxing your new address now. Hope you get your passport back soon!!!

No problem! I know when I got the PPR, I stressed almost as much over that and the forms and the envelope as I did over the entire process haha! It'll all be over soon!
