Hey, I will add you, but I dont understand your timeline.
How come it took so long to get sponsor approval, and how did you get AOR before the file transfer?
You are supposed to get the AOR when London receives your file.
Hey Thanks for your post, i think i got AOR wrong I thought AOR is the letter they send after sponsorship approval, my file was received at london on 13th April, my wife's sponsorship application took long to process, they received our application on 24th Jan started processing it on 18th of Feb and sent a letter on April 7th about the sponsorship approval and london received my application for permanent residence on 13th of April and since then there is no update other then medical results received.

We have sent off our passport from canada to london for the PPR anyone have any idea how long till we might get it back?
I know it says 5 - 6 weeks if by mail but was curious if anyone else has sent it while being in canada and if that timeline
would still be right since we are not in the uk? Thank you  Smiley

Great news, anywhere from 5-8 weeks, around the 5-6 is average but keep open for a bit longer. :-)

Hubby got his PPR on May 10th.  Sent Passport from Canada on May 11th.  Royal Mail delivered it in London on May 18th.  I'm guessing we will receive it sometime at the end of June or beginning of July.  As soon as we receive it back, I will post to let you know how long it took. My hubby is here on a 3-month holiday when he got the PPR.  I guess he won't be going back now LOL

Hey,
I sent my passport off to London from Canada too.
Sent it on Feb 28
Received in London March 4
Got it back April 8

Not too bad, but i was stressing so much as I had a holiday booked for April 16!
Mine was almost 6 weeks total from posting to getting it back, another girl in same situation took almost 7 weeks.

I am about to send my application of to Mississauga this week, everything seems good to go, my wife is my sponsor currently living in Ontario. Having already spent some time apart due to work commitments, I was hoping some one could give me some advise, in regard to getting into the country. Reading through some of these threads, am I right in thinking that once my wife has been approved to sponsor me, I can then apply for a temporary work visa whilst my application is being processed? or do I have to remain out of the country whilst the process takes place? Any help would be much appreciated.

Oh god I've got decision made on my ECAS, but no PPR via e-mail - which is how we've been communicating. Terrified my additional information wasn't enough...?  Sad

Don't fret. It is more likely that you provided what they needed. If not, they would have probably asked you again for more stuff. It took them quite a while to send my PPR after mine changed to DM (3 months). Hope it is less in your case, it normally is way less than 3 months from DM to PPR but I guess mine was just slow. Good luck!!
