I'm not sure Naz, mine changed went straight from "application received" to "decision made" I still don't understand why they asked for your passport, but not 2 new photos for your PR card. Perhaps they are still doing checks, I don't know? Hopefully they will be done soon though  I think a stress free rest is well deserved after this process! Kelly They must ve my pics before coz I applied for visit visa so many times. Anyway I ve sent them my passport and also two pics. Why they can ask for passport if they dnt wanna issue visa? This is beyond my understanindg. I am hoping for good. Naz |

Thanks! Yep, the beginning was the hardest part and I had a bad feeling about it all, but it has all gone very smoothly.
We'll be heading off the first week in September. My partner who is Canadian works at a hotel and needs to finish the season. We will be going to Toronto.
I'm very excited and just have one more form to fill out. Just hope I don't make a mistake!

HI Oliverp so that means the request for passport for me is not for the visa. It might be the part of there process. I am very worried as i have been waiting since 26th Nov 2010. How long further they can take? Naz |

hi guys! been here in canada for just over 4 weeks now. I still am waiting for my PR card and have been too lazy to go get a sin card and get a drivers licence but i needed a nice break after all the stresses of immigration lol. Feels weird to think I dont have to go back to England any time soon lol.
Alright Shandy! Go and get the SIN and dont be so lazy, its easy! You should register for your OHIP soon aswell. They will send you the healthcard around the 3 months of landing mark. Hopefully will get mine soon, July 9th is 3 months! Will get my drivers license sorted soon aswell, I think thats pretty easy. I went back to England last week. It was so nice not worrying about immigration on the way back. Instead of asking the purpose of my visit to canada, they asked what was I doing in Manchester I hope you're settling in. Enjoy the Summer! |

Sent my application to Mississauga on Friday. 1 year's work of preparing the application is finally over. My case is probably as straight-forward as it comes so I'm hoping for a quick process, but I worry that I have made mistakes in the application as I did everything on my own and had no help from any lawyers. This forum was fantastic though, and I really appreciate everyone here. Fedex told me the package would be delivered by tomorrow, and I'm really hoping they find nothing wrong with it and ship it over to London as soon as possible!

URGH. UPS were supposed to have my passport in London by the end of today and theyve royally screwed up. It's still sat in a Richmond sorting office somewhere, when I rang the guy said "just keep checking the tracker"
I felt like telling him all I've done for the past 7 months of my bloody life is check trackers haha! I did ask for compensation though, $72 to get that guarenteed in London today and it hasnt even left BC....
Grrr!
