Anyone who handed in application in early August already have their PPR? I am so upset cuz I saw someone who is in September already has their PPR and I don't even have my application inprocess:(
Its been 6 months I only get my AOR in jan 5 with my own UCI.

Anyone knows how long more do I have to wait?

Just to respond to everyone wondering why they're not listed yet as "in process" or don't have PPR, but someone who applied after them does - order your GCMS notes!! It was the best piece of advice I got from this forum while I was waiting for my PPR, and I can't recommend it enough. By getting my GCMS notes I was able to find out that my file hadn't been touched in months, and that the excuses Buffalo kept giving my MP were bullsh*t.

It only cost me $5 to get my GCMS notes via email (it took about 30 days), and I will be forever grateful to this forum for letting me know I could do that and get a real update on my file.

Hi veroica.law, I'm not aware of any September application in Buffalo that has PPR yet. As far as I know we only have several 'In Process' cases.
There are cases actually in process even though it's still showing 'Application Received' in ECAS.

What did the notes say about your file? And what can we don't after receiving the notes ?

They are the notes kept on/about your file by the VO at Buffalo. It has a set format, so you will see info regarding when your application was received, when it was opened, when they requested/received your criminal checks, medical results, etc. Plus at the end there is a section for "hand written" (though they're actually typed) additional notes, where you tend to see things like, "Relationship appears genuine, no need for interview." If you're going to Quebec, it will also state if your CSQ has been received by Buffalo.

Mine showed me that someone at Buffalo was bs-ing the staff at my husband's MP's office when they kept telling them that my criminal background check hadn't been received. They were telling them that in October, but the notes showed they'd requested and received results for the check in July! It also showed that in July my file was "sent to the put-away pile" and then there had been no updates since then (i.e. no updates to the file between July and Nov.). This helped me when I contacted Buffalo afterward trying to get them moving on my file again.

What you can do once you have for your GCMS notes is use that info when contacting Buffalo - whether it be directly or through an MP. So if you see Buffalo doesn't have your meds or your payment you sent in months ago you can contact them and state this.

Basically information is power in this situation, in that instead of emailing and saying "hey why is it taking so long" you can email and say, "hey why does it say you haven't touched my file since Sept. 15th, on which date it appeared you had all the info you needed to move forward with me file?" Or something along those lines.

How did you request the police clearance from Hong Kong? Did you do it in person or via mail please?

I called the HK police and they said they need the letter from CIC or visa office.  I then requested Buffalo to send me the letter and Buffalo said they will send it to me when they need it. Sad

Are you in Toronto? I just went to the official finger print place which u can find online. Besure bring in your hk ID if you have one. And tell the person u wanna do one for hk as well then they will give you the documents and help u do the ink finger print. After that, they will ask you to sign a forms then u go to the bank n ask for money order hkd160. And send it back to hk approx. 3 weeks later u will receive a hk police lePtter stated that they have already cash out and proceed your case.
However, if you are currently living in hk u can not do it unless the VO require you to do so.

Here's the September person who got PPR:

Hi Everyone,

I should have joined this forum about five months ago but I consistently checked this group on a regular sometimes daily basis. My Buffalo application was processed quite quickly and just thought I would share my information with the group.

Application Sent : September 1st 2011
Application Received  : September 2nd
Sponsor Approved  : November 15th
AOR : December 15th
PPR : February 2nd 2012
