@  ddobro2. Since you are 'In Process' hopefully that is a sign that the PPR will be coming anyday now. Yeah I know Ecas is unreliable but lets hope that in your case it isn't.

@ ddobro2. Just saw your CSQ dilemma. Just make sure you don't send it to Buffalo by Canada Post!

Passport received!

COPR received!

All documents are (surprisingly!) in order, with correct entries on everything!

Our cover letter detailing height & eye colour was returned, along with one photo in the envelope we sent them in.  The other photo has been attached to the COPR.

Visa valid through October 2012.  It appears that they extended the medicals for an entire year (they expired in early Oct 2011, per GCMS notes).

Our relationship evidence photos were not returned (no worries -- they were duplicates... I'm just mentioning this to document for future applicants).

Also: CanadaPost took 5 days to get the XpressPost 2-Day envelope back to us.  I called CanadaPost and they are sending a cheque to refund the cost of the envelope.

Jason Kenney Is my MP and his office wouldnt do anything for me and hes the head of immigration. So I contacted another MP here In Alberta and the lady at this office is great and has helped us so much.So I would try contacting another MP close to your area and see what they can do for you.
Thank you very much for the suggestion and we will try doing so asap

Congrats!  Grin

I'm so glad you mentioned the returned photo. When I picked up my visa they gave the extra pic back to me, I asked if they needed it since the PPR email clearly asked for 2 photos, and the woman just shrugged. I've been trying not to think about it... I'm glad I'm not the only one! (Maybe this is another of CIC's "hey, let's make all kinds of changes and implement them NOW!" things...)

Yeah, the whole two-photo thing is strange. I wonder if some offices don't use it, maybe sticking it into the visa or something.

Has anybody "landed" at an airport? I'm in Calgary, can I go to the airport and go through that port of entry without having to drive to the border? I can't get past the automated system on the phone to talk to anyone to ask.

I asked that a while ago, and apparently it can't be done.

The loophole you could exploit is you book a ticket to the US, clear US customs, then "change your mind" about going.  You would then need to be escorted to the Int'l arrivals (since you've had access to the duty free shops) where you could then land.

We had thought about doing this, but the risk of security flags being added to my wife's travel records was not worth the extra $100 (and day of travel) that it took to fly to the US and back.  She has a round-trip flight booked from Edmonton to LAX for about $379 in early December.  Only 12 hours of travel time.

There is apparently an option that you could schedule a landing interview at your local CIC.  The last I heard about that, however, was that the earliest interview dates for most locations were several months away.

The document in question was my CSQ, sigh, which they claimed they did not have.

....
In any case, I'm going to send them my CSQ by mail, fax, email, and will deploy a flock of carrier pigeons to drop them on everyone's desk during lunch hour. Even the janitor will get his own copy. Fine, I'm kidding.

That stinks!

Because I wasn't sure the MICC would forward it (since I had heard stories of there being a point of disconnect somewhere along the way where MICC claims to send it and Buffalo claims to never get it) So....I also sent a copy by mail, fax, and email to try my best to make sure one of them got there. Of course, despite my request for confirmation, Buffalo never let me know they got it, but eventually one day I got PPR.

Good luck! The unknowing about the CSQ arrival (and the lost CSQs) sure can be frustrating!

Hi everyone!  As December 7 quickly approaches for our interview in Buffalo, we're getting more and more nervous everyday...Haha!  Just wondering if anyone knows the interview success rate from Buffalo.  Also, anyone know what the chances would be of them actually granting the visa that same day?  We've got our fingers crossed and hope it all happens on that same day.  We just want all of this to go away...LOL!

Got a real email response from someone at Buffalo yesterday!!! They did misspell my last name, which is disconcerting, but the immigration officer claims my file is in queue for review by an immigration officer, that they're apparently still waiting on my meds but that a follow up to Immigration Medical Services was sent by Buffalo last week.

It came from a proper email address and not the one they list on the website (or that I wrote to). Fingers crossed they're being honest and not just blowing me off. I figure I'll wait a week or so and then try contacting again to make sure my meds were received and see if they'll give me another update.

Anyway, just wanted to share because I'm happy to feel like a live person has actually looked at my stuff recently. Hope everyone is having a good Thanksgiving weekend.

I suggest you order notes first, and tell agent that you have interview on coming dec 7th, if she can help to process faster,or you can even try to bring MP in this matter. Because getting notes before interview may worth a lot more than you think. You will know the reason why they ask for an interview, rather than just ask for a ppr. Be prepared always better than do nth. Sometimes you never know what is gonna happen, nobody can give a definite answer.
There is nothing to lose for trying, but help your interview a lot.
Good luck!
