General Question. I was reading on other forums that if you're dealing with a Consulate office that is outside of Canada, you cannot pay the RPRF online. Is that true or false? Upon being requested to pay for it, I did so online about 6 weeks ago. Or am I being antsy for nothing thanks.

Not sure what "a consular office outside of Canada" refers to. A visa office for outlanders, you mean? Yes, you can pay online, that's the preferred form. You just need to send the receipt to the correct address; sending a copy to the VO (i.e. giving them a a "heads up") doesn't hurt either. Anytime you send something to the VO, ordering GCMS notes is a good idea. General Question. We've went and sent out for CAIPS/GCMS notes today so we can have more detailed info on my progress in the queue, like medicals received, security checks done, anything amiss, etc.... We chose to follow the link to ATIP directly instead of going to one of those places that do that for you and charge you up the wazoo for it. (now my luck, as soon as I get home tonight, I'd probably have a PPR sitting in my mailbox or something )

Okay. So did you not get a confirmation letter from CPCM? What did your GCMS notes have to say (if you had an interview, I'm assuming you ordered them at some point)? thanks Ddobro2. Yes I meant visa office for outlanders. LOL juggling multiple emails and this forum now

My partner had the interview at the end of September. At the end of the interview the officer was ready to issue the PR stamp, however we did not pay for the RPRF. So she told us that instructions would be emailed to us. A week later we received the email stating that the RPRF needed to be paid. A day later we paid it online and set it off to Mississauga. A fax was also sent to Buffalo. It's been about 6 weeks since the letter arrived in Mississauga (according to Canada Post). I understand wait times can very. I'm just wondering if I could check to see if Mississauga has processed the fee. Any other pointers? We have not ordered GCMS notes yet. I'm just antsy because my partner who's currently in Canada needs to head back to Asia for a family obligation about a week or two. And will be tied up till the end of January.

My experience was that CPCM sent me a letter via post confirming their receipt of the RPRF receipt showing my payment and they had informed the visa office of it. I don't recall the time period that transpired but a delay of a month and a half or more while they process that is not uncommon (this is why it's best to pay all fees upfront, if at all feasible). In addition to the confirmation letter, I had my GCMS notes that showed this fee paid in the "fees" section. Not sure when your medicals expired, but if you applied a year ago this week and you passed the interview and sent in the RPRF more than a month back, I don't think they'll keep you waiting much longer.....at least, they shouldn't ( ). Hopefully the PPR is next week or the following. My partner had the interview at the end of September. That's what I assumed was the case. I'm going to ignore the person on the other thread and hope that this will be the case. Otherwise it really, truly makes no sense.
And mcmasters I actually would love for that to happen at this point. At this point I really would prefer to wait another week and half to get notice, and then just drive to the border with my COPR, CSQ and passport. I have a sneaking suspicion that I won't be getting a PPR before Thanksgiving anyway! Haha.
Congrats to those who got PPR today.
this!!

Just a quick note...
Buffalo reports having mailed our passport back on Nov 15. The return envelope's tracking number just went live today, having been received by the Fort Erie post office this morning.
So... my advice for those in a rush... even if you're in Canada, give them a USPS envelope -- at least then it'll take a few days less to get in the system, and you'll probably receive it in your hands before it even finds its way across the border in the diplomatic bag.

Yup, common law app. It seemed like an eternity, but really 5 months and 4 days ain't too bad.
Not bad all of us oldies would die for a 5 month turn around.

PPR!!!
Got it this afternoon, in an email. Excited!!! What is the usual turn around time for returning the passport? What mail service should I use to send it?
Do I use the same photo specs as the medicals? I got those done at Sears, that's who the consulate recommended.
Congrats
