Congrats beantown! Hopefully I'm close to the end as well. I filed just a few weeks after you. I hope these March guys get their crap together though, and start pumping out the PPRs for them! Good luck to the rest of you.

I suppose if we had come over illegally on a boat that we would get the red carpet treatment!  Angry

haha. No doubt, seems like us who do it legally get crapped on at the border and are treated rudely..You would not believe how many times I've crossed the border and had to go in and answer a million questions, and IOs giving me dirty looks because I am visiting so often. One lady even told me that I couldn't visit so often even if I was applying for PR. She told me I was doing everything wrong..and I was like uhhh..no. I did it the way CIC has posted online what I'm supposed to do, and she asked me what CIC was!! Anyways. Hopefully it will all pay off that we are all doing it the "right way".

You're all in my prayers for speedy processes and PPRs!! Cheesy

Does anyone know how/(if) we can change his mailing address to our address here so that all correspondance from Buff he will be able to receive in Canada?  Or since we are outland does this have to be a US address?

I'm not sure how you do it. Maybe someone else can help with that, but you have to hae a permanent physical address which must be in the U.S. and you can have a Canadian address for your mailing address, no problem.

You can also have your mail forwarded through the USPS to Canada, but you need to do that in person at a post office in the U.S., so don't wait until you get to Canada with him. (Obviously there will be a bit of a delay with mail that gets forwarded this way, but it works fine.)

Are any of your partners planning to join you in Canada while you wait out the PR?  My husband is wanting to come "visit" in October and then we will have him "flagpole" (is that the right term?) at Buffalo once he receives the PPR.  Does anyone know how/(if) we can change his mailing address to our address here so that all correspondance from Buff he will be able to receive in Canada?  Or since we are outland does this have to be a US address?  I know someone has mentioned this before in a thread but I am still a bit confused.  Can anyone please explain in more detail?  I know that the timing of this is very important but still unclear and don't want to miss any important letters from Buff!

Thanks in advance!

We've done this. You just go to Buffalo's website and send a case specific email. Include all of your information and say that you are changing the mailing address to the Canadian address. Also say that the physical address is the US address.

I am just curious for any of the Buffalo people that have gotten their PR approved.  How long typically after receipt of the AOR (if one was received) did you get your passport request?

7 weeks after they started processing in Buffalo, my husband received his passport request.  Smiley

So I finally recieved my quebec selection certificate (csq) it took forever 6 1/2 weeks. The interesting thing is it is just a normal piece of paper with a signature, I expected something fancy since I had to pay $250 for it and wait so long. I am mostly jsut happy I finally recieved it.

Does anyone have the fax number for where I would fax in a request to have my medicals forwarded to Buffalo?
Buffalo is still saying they haven't received them even though they were sent in by my DMP back in December of 2009.

Thanks for your help!

I would like to check mine, too............is there any phone # or e-mail address ?

Adetia, how did you find out your medical wasn't forwarded to Buffalo? Are they asked you? Or did you write an e-mail for them?

I'm in the same situation as you.  Buffalo started our files around the same time.  Unfortunately, I just had another unnecessary delay...mailed my RPRF receipt by Xpresspost to Mississauga as requested in July.  No signature.  No confirmation of receipt.  Nothing.

This was in July.

Canada Post investigates by my request.  Verified that CPC-M sometimes does not pick up at their P.O. Box for an extended period of time...and they receive hundreds per day.  So, I faxed a copy of my internet receipt to Buffalo and Mississauga.  I'll let you know when I get an update.

Thanks for your help!

This is where we faxed a couple weeks ago:
Ottawa RMC (613-954-8653)
They responded quickly. I gave the file number, both our names, dates of birth and simply asked if Buffalo had requested medical results and if so had they been sent.
 Good luck!

I've dealt with CBSA guards like that.  One woman told me that "I made the choice to follow the wrong process" to file my application (I did NOT follow the wrong process - she was grossly misinformed about CIC's process and everything was done correctly on our end).  I also travel across every weekend, so I got a strong lecture about that.

Instead of engaging in an argument about the points she had no clue about, I just said "okay..." 12 or so times until she ran out of questions, and let me go.  She realized that there were any other responses that were coming out of my mouth from her meaningless and misinformed lecture.  I didn't submit a formal complaint, but I let the guards know on future trips that I was happy not to have her at the window again...and told them why.  Amazingly -- they knew exactly which guard I was talking about.

thank you dhdesigns! i knew someone had posted that recently but for the life of me sifting back through the posts I couldn't find the number.  Appreciate your help!!

I was emailed by Buffalo saying they still had not received my medical results even though they could see they were completed.  So, I will fax Ottawa today and hopefully get that taken care of.

Thanks a ton!! Smiley

Now, if the FBI could just play along by successfully processing our 3rd set of fingerprints (fingers and toes crossed), we might have a prayer of making it in before our medicals expire, though I have my doubts Sad

So do we always have to contact Ottawa to get our medicals sent to Buffalo, or will Buffalo let us know if there is a problem?
