I just got my AOR letter from Buffalo that they started my wife's file.  Yay!  I was getting a little nervous with all the other early May people hearing something.  Still no change in e-cas.

Thank you for all the information journeyman!

Another question: we made the mistake of telling the Designated MD to send results to Mississauga instead of BUF as we did not know then where to send it.  We thought it was to go to the office where I was sending my application.  My husband's medical exam was done on June 4th but Mississuaga rec'd our application on June 24th.  Would Mississauga forward it to BUF?

I put Mississauga on the DMP form as our visa office too (and we did the meds about 2 months before submitting our app), but Buffalo had no problem getting it when they needed it. I don't even think it slowed down our processing. So I wouldn't worry about where it is. They should be able to find it.

WHat is the average time for processing now.
The website says 4-10 months. I think I'm having a brain lapse or something. I was thinking it had been 3-10 months at one time in the last 3 months.

I personally don't remember ever seeing it as 3-10 months. I wish we had more of Europe's time Sad

Ah, thanks for the replies. I must have been confused.

We had originally intended to apply in May, and I think I'm still going off that timeframe of 5 months - but didn't till July due to needing an actual passport book and scheduling stuff.

That stinks, instead of OCtober, it puts maybe December ours being done... unless they move faster.

I wanted to give a super praise report to encourage you. I just got my request for passports Aug 10) and I have a previous marriage(divorced june 09), 3 children and married my wonderful husband 7 months after we met.  I prayed to GOD alot asking him to give favor and allow a quick process for the kids to get into school and HE has done it. My sponsership approved April 16th, my process started MAy 24th and I sent my FBI cert early July. Now they are ready to issue our visa's. I GIVE GOD THE GLORY....and I encourage you to pray for yourselves too and see what God will do for you! He is GOOD. Grin

God is great! Congratulations on the acceptance and quick processing. I am hoping and praying for the rest of us the same. I want/need to get back into school as soon as possible and hope that CIC will notice that I mentioned school and how I want to get back into as soon as possible. I have already missed out on a year of schooling because of immigration! Best of luck on your new life with your hubby and children!

can_usa_97:

I swear that I saw that too! Because I was hoping maybe I would be lucky enough to be near the 3-6 months processing times, but not sure. It may have been around February-ish when I saw that now that I think about it..Because that's when I initially started paperwork, med exams, PCC, etc.

Patience is a virtue, so reads my recent fortune cookie.  Hopefully we can all stay sane through the processing time. I just got back from BC to spend time with my boyfriend for his birthday and am back in Oregon now. I miss is up there so much! I'm especially looking forward for this to be all over with as soon as possible!! UGH!

The processing times were updated in June (according to the dates listed at the top of the page) but as long as I have been checking them (since last July) they have always been 4-10

Why do you say that? 50% of applications are being processed at 6 months, so it shouldn't be too much longer hey?

I have a question, that I asked before but I wanted to know again, anybody here cross before their PPR? Here is my situation:
I received not one, but 2 visitor record the last 2 times I stayed for more than 2 weeks in Canadass, and they only allowed me 2 weeks on my last one when I wanted to stay for a month. I'm worried that if I try and 'move' up there again, they might not let me, or produce another visitor record for me and make me leave.

I was told that I should just tell them I'm visiting for x amount of time (even if I change it after I cross the border it wouldn't really matter, especially upon receipt of a PPR later on), and to show proof that I will be leaving (like a train ticket, etc. possibly something that I could get my money back for), and to only bring things like clothes (that way it looks less permanent if an IO searches the vehicle). What are your thoughts? My lease is up soon, and I need to move asap. I really want to just move up to BC and wait for a response from Buffalo. Should I do it? I'm so stressed about what I should do, because I'm worried that I won't be able to cross the border, or that they will issue me another visitor record and make me leave saying that I am not a genuine visitor.  If I move I have to quit my job, and since my lease is up can't prove I have a place of my own anymore. So they will tell me what happened last time at the border, that I am no longer considered a genuine visitor and that I will have to leave after 2 weeks, depending on if I get an officer nice enough to allow me even that much time to visit. My other option is that I can enroll for classes at my local community college, making me genuine visitor and cross, then just drop the classes? I don't know what to do. So stressed right now.

Any advice?
