Congratulations Puzzle69 and good luck for a quick sale of your house!
Just wanted to share that my husband who just landed last week, got a really good job offer yesterday! I hope this encourages others because you just never know how quickly things can turn around! He was actually out of work in the U.S. for over 2 years but now has found a company up here who really recognizes his skills and experience. We have had some really, really hard times over the last few years so we are very excited about this fresh start in Canada! Wishing many happy fresh starts for members of this forum!!!

I am liking the last few pages of this thread. So much good news!
My ex never responded to the custody modification so it defaults to me as of TODAY! Tomorrow, I am getting the rest of the forms notarized and sent to the court so the judge can approve the default and get the modification signed and back to me. Once I have that, I can send the application to my husband and he'll get his stuff added/signed and sent to CPC-M.... so close....
Congrats everyone who's landed or gotten various stages approved/PPR/etc. I hope everyone else's process is speedy (or speedier if it's been slug-slow).

Has anyone found out the difference between the Buffalo file numbers starting with 'B' vs. the file numbers starting with 'F'?

No one seems to know for sure, but eletyl's recent thread suggests the F file number may refer to the electronic version of the main B paper file.

That might be right bcos when you into Ecas to check the status, the format for Immi. file number starts with B. They havnt changed it to B or F so that indicates that F is a new way to track the applications.

Ugh, I could really use some good immigration news right about now. We lost one of our cats during the night of the 26th/27th and haven't had any luck finding him since. Our other cat is visibly grieving and so am I! If only CIC could bring back my furry bundle of joy!

no encouraging news around, so quiet. The address came back on e-cas but they out the old one back again. I had sent the request for change of address. God knows how they work, the file is sitting in their office since March 10, how long do they need to see the files?

I am pondering over whether to send an email asking for the status, last 1 I sent was probably 3 weeks back and I finally got a FXXXXXX
nothing after that, problem is I dont have any grounds to poke them with other than blatantly asking them about the status on my file

Doesn't mean a thing. There's no reason for you to ever need both. (To be clear: For all we know, everyone gets both numbers now. But you only ever need to know one.) The B file number is what they typically give you. You won't need the F file number for anything if you already have the B number. It's NOT standard (or at least, didn't used to be) for them to give people F numbers. They seem to have started doing it more recently, but perhaps that is tied more into their ways of dealing with the backlog. Example: give all new files a preliminary F file number first, B later? It seems like, lately, the people getting the F numbers first are the ones who've asked Buffalo for file numbers early in the process, before Buffalo even gives them an official AOR with the B number. I could be wrong about the numbers having to do with backlog or asking for file numbers before they're ready to give you one, but that's what I've gathered from the posts I've seen. It could also just be a product of their new computer system, i.e. perhaps more electronic filing now.
