Hi everyone, I made a mistake above, it's 5 photos, not 4. That will teach me to rely on my memory, instead of the guide. Sorry about that. we only took 4 photos to the DMP. 3 went on the Drs copy and one on ours with an official stamp - that is what we send with the app.

Thanks so much for all the info about the medical!!
I think you should call DMP to make sure. By the way, I used only 4 photos as well.

One photo is attached to the form the DMP gives you after the exam. Another is used to make your insurance card. I'm not sure where the rest go, but I had to give pics for the x ray lab as well.

As I said, I had thought it was 4 but then I did double check the guide (IMM3999 E - 01-2010) Part 2: The Immigrant's Guide and on Page 6, in the How to Proceed section, Step 2 states -5 recent photos, taken within six months preceding the date of your examination.
Then I remembered, we had to get 2 sheets of passport photos, to get the 5th photo. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

My husband didn't sign the sponsorship agreement. It took almost a month to get back to me.

I already posted about this in the April 2010 thread but I want to post about it here too so Buffalo folks who aren't looking in April can see the timeline.
I was approved as a sponsor and my file was transferred to Buffalo May 17, 2010.
I'm so happy -I was fully prepared to wait the full 2 months wait time that is posted on the CIC's wait times page, so approval in a month is a very pleasant surprise.
Now on to part 2!

Yay Mexicana Some days are certainly harder than others, are they not? I'm so discouraged lately.. I have an ovarian cyst that they are sure is not serious but they want to check it again in a few months to make sure it goes away like they usually do because it's a bit large (and VERY painful at times!).. I've already resigned from my job and will only have health insurance through September and who knows when I'll get OHIP.. Just needed to vent a little. Sorry guys.

Thanks! I thought maybe I could buy some Canadian coverage but it's only really there for emergencies, not screenings. I'm trying to get ahold of my doctor to explain the situation. It's not serious other than it's big but I don't want to have it go unscreened when they think it needs screened, so we'll see what she thinks. Sometimes the stress just kind of hits all at once, doesn't it?

It appears that different Designated Medical Practitioners request different numbers and kinds of photos.
The official guide's instructions were DEFINITELY DIFFERENT than the specific instructions from my DMP. I brought both. . . . the DMP used the ones they'd themselves asked for.
(Then my DMP stapled the photos to the wrong document, and ended up having to use black-and-white color Xeroxes on the copies they sent to Ottawa -- !!!! -- but it all turned out all right in the end.)
