AOR will come as an email or letter in mail to the Principal Applicant, and it is usually taking over 2 months now for applicants fromthe time their application reached Buffalo. Buffalo office has started a new filing system I guess, where they start scanning the files as soon as they come in. Looking at your timeline, I guess your file just reached Buffalo. We have people who had their files reaching Buffalo around Jan 18, and still haven't heard anything. You can refer to the spreadsheet link listed below to compare and see how they proceed with the files. However, Buffalo is highly inconsistent.

Thanks for the info.   Having the breadth of everyone's collective knowledge and experience is really helping us with the process.  Smiley

Just got passport request!!! Smiley

Question:  His address is in MN, but right now he's visiting me in Ontario (so has his passport here!)  Makes more sense to go in person to Buffalo, then, right?  If we mail it, it would have to be from Canada, but it's outbound application, and if it could take up to 15 days that's a problem.  Has anyone else gone to Buffalo?  Will it all be processed in a day?

Did your IA specifically say that you need to pay your RPRF (was it circled or something)? I remember reading somewhere that the letter they use is generic.

No, it was generic, and it wasn't circled (I heard others had it circled before).   We did pay it before the date of the AI (feb. 22).  I had mailed the copy to Buffalo (from Vancouver) on feb. 15, so they may have received that already and didn't circle it.  Although, it wasn't processed yet by Mississauga officially, which didn't happen until March 8.

I see Buffalo has a PPR today!

Congrats stellar!

Congrats on the PPR Stellar!  Many people have gone to Buffalo to get their passports stamped, and I'm sure some of them will post here.  You can get it back the same day you take it down.  I think (from what I've heard) it takes a few hours between when you drop it off and when you pick it up again.

I'm glad to see that some people who applied in may are getting their PPR. They need to give PPR to people who applied earlier in 2011 and move up from there Smiley

The one thing that might have delayed my application was that I hadn't paid the RPRF in the beginning.

I've yet to pay the RPRF.  I was going to wait until receiving the AOR to pay it - however the file's status is 'Application Received' on e-cas.  Is this something I should pay now to avoid any delays?

Our app was received in Buffalo yesterday.

Not paying the RPRF up front with the app could delay the process  almost 2 months....i learned this from the CIC website

Our app was received in Buffalo yesterday.

I waited until I got the AOR before I paid my RPRF.  I wanted to have the immigration file number before we sent the payment.  We paid online and then sent the form to Mississauga.  You wrote the sponsor's info on it, plus the client ID for the sponsor.  In the margin, I mentioned the applicant's name and put a Buffalo immigration file number stick there too and underneath wrote "Buffalo file number."  I mailed the original to Mississauga and a copy to Buffalo (I also put a sticker on the envelope to Buffalo).  Mississauga confirmed it was paid about 2.5 weeks after I mailed it.  You can also check the status (if it's processed) by inputting the sponsor's info and the receipt number from the RPRF into e-cas.

It didn't seem to delay my application very long.  I just got PPR and it's been about 4.5 months.  I would pay it before they request it though, as if you do that, it might delay it longer than 2 weeks.

Well, my PPR came a little over a month after the initial assessment, so you could be close!  Some people got it faster than that.  Congrats!

I'll land as soon as I get my passport back.  I need to get the photos done and mail it out.  I'm in Vancouver, so the border is just an hour away.  Oops, but the only obstacle is my car.  It has a lien on it.  I need to figure that out asap.
