....... As always CIC is inconsistent and you can't plan on anything, but there have been several recent applications that were approved a few weeks after their IA.

If CIC were predictable, everyone would get in Smiley
Random and inconsistent are all part of the spice of life - it would be boring otherwise.

Nobody ever said the process would be easy, immigrants want to be in Canada, but Canada does not necessarily want the immigrants.
It is not good that we all have to deal with this, the only other choice is - don't immigrate.

I'm not clear from your post when your Sponsorship approval happened.  Was it in January or on November 18?

If your application was forward to Buffalo near the middle-end of January, then no one else from that time period has heard from them yet either.  If it was forwarded earlier in the month, then they might be a little late contacting you - but not late enough to worry about.  Buffalo is still sending Aknowledgements of Receipt to the people who's applications were received by them in January.  They're painfully slow sometimes.   Roll Eyes

Your application would have been forwarded to Buffalo right after the approved your sponsorship.

I see.  You're on the same timeline as two of the members of the December Buffalo group.  Their sponsorship approval was also granted on the 18th of January, and they have not yet received their Aknowledgement of Receipt from Buffalo.  So I wouldn't worry that you have not heard.  It's frustrating, and hard to wait.  But you should be hearing something any day now.  You might want to keep an eye on the December thread to see when/if the other two say they have received their AOR's.

On a side note, we have someone who's sponsorship was granted on the 13th who has yet not reported receiving her AOR.

Kerianne that's awesome news!  Means they've ok'd your conjugal relationship!  Fingers crossed the final step is soon.

Crossing my fingers, toes, arms...I look like a pretzel! LOL

I got my initial assessment back in early July 2010.  PPR March 9th.
It seems completely random however to me, you'll see someone say 2 weeks, then someone like me whose time from assessment to finish is longer then other people took in total...  go figure! Smiley

The initial assessment IS different from the AOR right? I got my AOR Aug. 2010...but because they requested more info last November, do you think that's why I got an IA? Does everybody get an IA?

Sorry for all the questions! I'm soo anxious to see what happens?? I wonder if I get approved if they will still send me my CAIPS?  Tongue

Not everyone gets an IA some people go staight to PPR.  It looks like they've approved your relationship as they requested the docs before.  Im thinking about you!

Yep, it's different. I don't think the fact that they requested more info from you is the reason why you got an IA. I have seen many people who got IAs who were never asked for additional documents (including us).

Also it seems not everybody does get an IA, and I guess nobody knows why that is  Smiley

AOR will come as an email or letter in mail to the Principal Applicant, and it is usually taking over 2 months now for applicants fromthe time their application reached Buffalo. Buffalo office has started a new filing system I guess, where they start scanning the files as soon as they come in. Looking at your timeline, I guess your file just reached Buffalo. We have people who had their files reaching Buffalo around Jan 18, and still haven't heard anything. You can refer to the spreadsheet link listed below to compare and see how they proceed with the files. However, Buffalo is highly inconsistent.

I have a very similar timeline as you and they sent my IA on Feb. 22, 2011.  Pharoh got his the same time, but then he got PPR on 3/16 and I didn't.  So, yeah, there's no consistency.  My IA also waived my interview and said that no other documents were needed.

The one thing that might have delayed my application was that I hadn't paid the RPRF in the beginning.  I paid it mid-Feb and it was received by Mississauga on Feb. 17 and they sent me a letter on March 8, 2011 saying that it has been processed and the information forwarded to Buffalo.  I also had mailed a copy to Buffalo at the same time I had sent it to Mississauga in Feb.  Then I emailed Buffalo to confirm that they received it after I got the notice from Mississauga, but they never responded.

The IA would have been sent before they got my RPRF fee and it was mentioned on there that it needed to be paid.

valy79 - did you pay your RPRF in the beginning or later on?

I paid mine with the initial application. All one lump-sum.

Well, we paid everything as a lump sum in the beginning as well (like kerianne). But we never got a letter about it being processed or anything. We did check back on my fiance's credit card bill and it already got deducted from his account, thus I never bothered asking the embassy.
On our IA it did say something about RPRF and how Mississauga might contact the sponsor to have it paid, but that never happened (presumably because we already paid it).

Not sure if I should do something about it/ask (since they never reply anyway)....

Did your IA specifically say that you need to pay your RPRF (was it circled or something)? I remember reading somewhere that the letter they use is generic.
