How detailed must I be listing the goods I am bringing into Canada? Exactly how many pairs of socks, value and descriptions, etc. For example : 150 cotton balls vs. 8 oz bag cotton balls worth $1. Are items like that really necessary? Also,I read about exemptions for wedding gifts, do I still list the opened ones or how do I go about that if they are unopened when I bring them (this would be after the initial landing in Calgary). Also, am I allowed to have my Canadian in-laws bring a small trailer hitched to their car over the border so long as they have the list of goods?(this would be after the initial landing i.e. list of goods to follow) Or do I have to be physically present (I will be on my honeymoon)

I received a letter from CIC Mississauga yesterday, dated March 8, 2011 saying they received my RPRF and that the VO has been notified that it is paid.   I had already known they processed it more or less since I was able to log into e-cas using the receipt number from it on March 11.

But nevertheless, because someone else (88mv) on this forum emailed Buffalo to confirm they received the notification of payment (and received an answer quickly), I did that too, last night, and am waiting to hear back from them.  I figured it wouldn't hurt to know that the later payment of the RPRF isn't holding up my application.  Also, I thought maybe sending them an email might prompt them to send PPR via email rather than mail.  Although in 88mv's case, it seems they got it via mail.  Regular mail is just sooo slooooow.

hey tree,
question for ya....are you the sponsor or the applicant? While sendign the receipt did you input the sponsor's details....Name, address, client ID or the Applicants? I dont have my (applicant's client ID) as yet so I sent the receipt by fax inputting sponsor's name, address and client ID. I am assuming if they would send a notification letter for RPRF, they would send it to my wife(sponsor) in Canada

P.S. Congrats Pharoh, finaaalllyy for you!!

Congrats on the PPR Smiley

I've been doing some research but have yet to find any useful information --- currently my sponsor status shows 'decision made.'  Is there any kind of general timeline for my wife's 'pr application status' to go from not available to in process?

Is this the step where we wait for the AOR and then that status will change?

So I emailed Buffalo yesterday and got a response this morning, very quick I haven't gotten a response to the previous two emails I sent via the case specific enquiry.
They wrote my application is still in process and no furher action is required by me at this time.
Honestly I'm just glad it's still in process and they have received all of the documents they requested. A least I know the applcation is still active, I'm still going to order CAIPS.

buffalo-toronto,

I'm the applicant.  When we sent the receipt, we put the sponsor's details and client ID # in the form.  I also put my sticker from Buffalo (I waited to pay mine until I got my AOR) and labeled what it was on the side, just to make sure they match it up right.  But I don't think that's necessary - it was just for myself probably - to make me feel more secure about having it credited to my case.  Haven't heard back from Buffalo yet about the confirmation of the receipt of payment, but maybe tomorrow....

I never got an acknowledgment from Buffalo about receiving the RPRF. I got a letter requesting it but never a letter confirming they received it, the only letter I got was from Mississauga confirming that they had forwarded the information to Buffalo.

Does anybody have a box of kleenex. Still nothing for me.

 Cry

Congrats to all those who got PPRs tho...

I'm starting to feel like I am the only person left from the beginning of 2010. wahh.

PS. I know I've read on here before how to order CAIPS and I've put it off more than I wanted to. But I need to order ASAP and see what's going on. Does anybody have a link for the form and which number to fax it to? Thanks in advance.

Hey nevermind, I just googled it and got all the info on another site.  If anybody is wondering what all the abbreviations and whatnot mean on their CAIPS, here is a helpful link:

Hey Tree,

Sorry for taking so long to write back.  I got it via regular mail.

I left Chicago at 3PM.... got to Buffalo at 3AM.

No offense to any New Yorkers, but this... place... sucks.

CIC chose a perfect hell for our applications to sit and rot for months at a time.

I'm running on roughly 2 hours of sleep.  I'm heading to the Consulate in a little bit, hoping to be first in line.

Ugh.

Well, I'm here!  1 HSBC Centre!  I'm the first one here.  I think I took the wrong elevator... two security people told me to turn around and take another elevator to the lobby, and wait for CIC to come and get me.  I'm enjoying some Timmies right now.
