Don't worry! My husband's ecas continued to show "in process" after he received PPR - and continued to show this status for almost two weeks after he landed. So what you're seeing is perfectly normal.  Cheesy

Thanks scylla! I was a little worried!

well, the passport watch has begun for us.. my passport is in calgary atm, on its way across canada to buffalo.  we decided it was just too pricy to fly all of us to buffalo etc, right now.  so, we meticulously followed the mailing instructions, and then when it gets back to us, we're going to land down at Coutts most likely since they've been so friendly every time we've crossed the border by land.

IMMEDIATELY !

After careful consideration, I've deleted my post.  Thanks.

Unfortunately... no amount of patience can fix:

-the obvious bureaucratic inconsistencies of how CIC works (or doesn't).
-the real fear of Buffalo or other VO's losing paperwork (and they do).
-the constant lack of communication from Buffalo and other VO's.
-the high likelihood of processing errors by Buffalo and other VO's.
-the emotional and physical turmoil this process can take on your body.
-the time apart from your loved one, which can never be earned back.
-the stress this causes on new relationships (marriages or whatever).
-the financial difficulties this can bring about on new relationships.

I could go on...

How do know if your medicals have been received by Buffalo?

Do they send you an email/letter to confirm receipt of your medical and your FBI Clearance?

You'll know if your eCas updates to say "Medical results have been received", and or you receive an IA (initial assessment) letter from Buffalo, following your AOR (acknowledgment of receipt), and the letter will indicate the medicals were received or not.  You may not get an IA, but should see the status on eCas after a while.

As for your FBI, you won't know, unless they request additional docs, and one of them is the FBI clearance.  If they don't ask for it, you should be fine.

Thanks Pharoh.

I really appreciate your informative advise.  I always look out for your replies, because they are clear and answer the question directly.

One last question, through e-cas I've only entered my own last name, date of birth, Cliend ID, etc.  (I'm the sponsor).  I've gotten the occassional impression, that I should be entering my husband (the applicant's) info.  For eCas, it is the sponsor or applicants info that you enter?

Your husband's info should start working, around the time you receive an AOR from Buffalo.  The AOR will contain your husband's Immigration File Number, which you use with his last name, DOB, and country of Citizenship.  When his file becomes active, you'll then be able to see if medicals have been received, a decision has been made, etc.

Who receives the AOR actually? is it the sponsor or the sponsored person? I believe the sponsored person but I might be wrong.

There's one more scenario: You never find out about your medicals (i.e. ecas is never updated with "medical results received" and no IA letter is received). This is what happened to us and at least a few others here.

I didn't want to mention that scenario, but yes, Buffalo does fail COMPLETELY at times.
