My husband's application started processing in Buffalo on August 27th!  We are still waiting.  They asked for additional documents in September and confirmed that they received them.  I'm so worried that something has gone wrong, as I keep seeing Buffalo people getting their PR's!

My husband's file started processing in Buffalo on 06-Aug-10, complete with RPRF, no additional documents required, and we just got a PPR on Tuesday.  I think they're just being slow, but order your CAIPS notes if you want to ease your mind.  Smiley

We ordered our CAIPS notes two weeks ago.. but I have a feeling they won't really easy my mind!

We paid our RPRF right away as well.  I figure that the RCMP fingerprints probably set us a month or so behind.  Hopefully we hear something in the next couple of months!

Congrats on your PPR!  Did you find out about your interview being waived when you got PPR?

They also asked me for additional documents but they never confirmed that they have received it. How did you get the confirmation?

Best of luck with your process.

Well, we finally completed our paperwork and have our package ready to mail to CPC Mississauga tomorrow!  What a time consuming and complicated process putting all of that together......so glad we finally got it done  Smiley

We have been married for almost 14 years and have 4 children and I am Canadian/U.S. dual citizen and have been living in the U.S. for 15 years and my husband is a U.S. citizen.  I have a job offer in Canada so we will be heading to Saskatchewan at the end of this month, praying that my husband can get across the border OK as a visitor while we wait for his immigration process.  We don't own any property here and hubby has been a stay-at-home dad for the last couple of years since he lost his job so we really hope they don't give us any hassle about him not having enough ties to the U.S.  We are planning to leave most of our stuff in storage here in the States for now so we won't be bringing a big U-haul across just yet but do you think it is OK if we bring a small U-haul trailer?  We are planning to import one of our vans for me to register in Sask and the other we will leave registered down here for hubby to import later when he lands, but he will drive it to Sask now.  We really need him with us to take care of the kids while I work!  Think we'll be OK?

Hello everyone,

I have a quick question if somebody can answer it, before that a brief history of my case. I submitted my PR application on 30 March, 2010. Because of FBI PC everything messed up. Anyway Immigration officer put a Bring forward date on my case which was 25 Feb, 2011. As he was waiting for my FBI PC and i guess it is the last document IO required to finalize me case. So far i don't know what decision is made on my case or IO might have needed couple of more years to finalize my case. Tongue

Now my question is, is there any way to know what happened on 25 Feb? did he make any decision or not?

Caips Note

Summary of Your File

Case type: immigrant
Class: family
Number of persons: 1
Application received: 30-Mar-2010
Paper screening decision 1: 08-Sep-2010 (passed) Why it says paper screening decision 1?
Interview date: waived
Selection decision 4: 08-Sep-2010 (passed)  Here it says selection decision 4? What does 4 mean here any idea?
Final decision: not entered
Medical stage validity 14-Mar-2011
Bring forward date: 15-Feb-2011

Assessment of Your File

On 06-Jan-2011 (page 3 of your CAIPS file), the date of the last note, Buffalo received
communication from you that you had applied for the FBI certificate. Prior to that, on 08-Sep-2010
your file was assessed and your selection decision was interview waiver. Buffalo sent you a letter on
that date notifying you of the interview waiver and the additional documentation required for the
final decision.

Thanks

We are planning to leave most of our stuff in storage here in the States for now so we won't be bringing a big U-haul across just yet but do you think it is OK if we bring a small U-haul trailer?

It largely depends on what's in the trailer. If it's the kind of things that you might bring on a vacation, it should be fine. If it's the kind of things that you wouldn't normally bring on a vacation, and it looks like you're moving all his stuff permanently, there could be trouble.

When I crossed into Canada with my partner, we had every nook and cranny of my Pontiac G5 stuffed with stuff. Thankfully, they didn't decide to inspect it, because it would have taken considerable time to cram it all back in there. A lot of it was clothes, but we also brought all the food from his fridge and kitchen cabinets, and numerous other small items. They specifically asked at the booth on the road if there was any furniture, which there wasn't.

Ours had paper screening 1 and selection decision 4.  According to here http://immipedia.ca/CAIPS_Codes 1 means "Passed" and 4 means "waived".  The paper screening is reading your file and selection decision would be for a physical interview.  Since the interview is waived this is a 4.

Best of luck with your process.

They don't confirm receipt of documents.  When you sent it did your courier recieve a signature?  They have had our document from the 21st of Dec as well.

just got my PPR, took 16 month 2 days, but it finally arrived this morning via e-mail! So excited! Smiley

Wow, long time. Congrats!

Dralon, keep your chin up Smiley I'm still rootin for ya. (and myself as well as the few others of us still "un"patiently waiting)

No news on my end. Monday I am going to make an appointment with the local MP and order CAIPS during the appointment or maybe do it sooner depending on when I can get it. Thanks Mexicana for the advice. I might make an appointment for a medical soon, but maybe I can get an answer through caips notes. Thanks!
