We sent the right number of photos with the original application.

However when we received the passport request, we were told we had to provide additional photos (3 or 4???) and also confirm height and eye colour. We were asked to submit this information (height/eye colour), the extra photos, the passport and the PPR letter together.

I know others have been asked to provide the additional photos and height/eye colour. But I'm not sure if this is standard for all those going through Buffalo.

I wonder if this isn't relevant to the date at which the original photos were taken / submitted.

It appears that from filing to visa issuance you were about 4 months -- when were the photos taken?  (I'm assuming they were stamped on the back with the date they were made)  Were the original photos within the specification, or is there a chance they weren't quite right?

If I remember correctly, the original photos were about 5 months old at that point (i.e. we had them done one month before the application was submitted). So yes, it's entirely possible that's what triggered the request for new photos. Having said that, the email my husband received looked like a "we send this version to everyone" form letter rather than something customized. I've also seen other people post their letters/emails here and what we received was identical.

The original photos were per spec - my husband is a big math guy and insisted on measuring both the original and the second round to make sure they were the correct size and had the right head to white space ratio. Smiley We also had both sets taken by the same person who was very familiar with immigration photos requirements.

But I'm obviously just guessing about all of the above!  Smiley

Thanks scylla!. I decided to send a specific enquiry to Buffalo about the matter. Hopefully there will not be another system automatic response)

Hi Everyone,

I just sent my application package to CPC-M via Fedex (about 1.5 hours ago.)  I'm Canadian, my wife is American.  We've been together since June 2008, engaged Feb 2009, married June 2010.  She's living here with me as a visitor with a visitor record and we both travel fairly often to the US.  I had to use a small fedex box because of all the supporting documentation we included.... I hope it isn't overkill.

Wish us luck!

I got an extremely fast reply from Buffalo stating "ALL you needed to submit is the passport", so I guess photos are not a must thing

Mike100, can you also ask them why they're so slow?  Or perhaps more humorously, tell them they're losing to the London office.   Wink

You can tell them there's 9 million unemployed Americans looking for work, who would be happy to help out at the Consulate General of Canada's office.

If CIC was a 24/7 operation, can you imagine how much they'd get done?

Think of the cost  Shocked
Fees would be tripled, unless they contracted it to Rogers or Bell - then it would be a 500% markup.
