oh and sorry i will be selfish i would to see my wife accepted before you guys/gals.. just a question of not being around this forum too long.. it's bad for my health
You know, I'd gladly give up some processing time if it meant that you could get your application finalized a bit sooner. I can't imagine waiting since last February. Good luck to you!

I got an e-mail from E-cas tracker today witrh an update on my file it read
XXXXX XXXXX entered Canada at Niagara Falls Queenston-Lewiston Bridge on February 1, 2011 and became a Permanent Resident.
It made me smile and interested that the updte was so specific by mentioning the date and location of landing. I am now offically a PR, Got my car inspected and registered today, and applied for my SIN #. I now have health coverage for my pregnancy as well. I am so happy this process is over and I can go on with my life without mentioning Buffalo or Immigration every day. It is funny how my vocabulary changed during this process, I never thought there would be so much to discuss about immigration.

OMG Dralon! Please don't say that! I'm hoping for a miracle for us Buffalo applicants!
yeah, don't get your hopes up. My medical expires in 2 weeks, and my FBI clearance in a month or so. You can hope for a miracle for both Dralon, adetia and I as well We're very eager to be with our spouses ASAP. Dralon, I'm sorry to hear that your MP didn't get any news, I have sent in the requested information December 27, and still have not heard anything. Ecas has not changed for me, and I sent in a change of address, placed at the top of the information I sent in, and my ecas was still not changed for my mailing address either. Think I should reschedule another medical? What are you going to do? Do you think I should order another FBI check? I don't really want to waste my money... Well after seeing so many updates, decided to look again... and still in progress. :/
Same here Good luck... ***Buffalo Interview today*** So the process went smoothly no strange questions, just asked about how I met my husband, the wedding, and what we have been doing since the marriage. They issued the visa today as well. So not need to wait on the visa. I am so relieved to be done with immigration and now I can finally get insurance this week. I will land tommorow and import my car as well. I will post my experiance after landing.
Congratulations!

Can anyone shed any light on when medicals expire? IS it 1 year from when you have the medicals completed (OR) 1 year from when they get uploaded to VO?

I believe it is one year from when you take the medical.

I got my AOR letter in the mail, along with the stickers. No information on interview or anything. I added my file number to the eCas tracker, so they have both my receipt number and file number to check for updates.
Now back to waiting...

Hi Everyone, I posted a few questions a few days ago but no one responded so hopefully if you can, you could read it and let me know what you think. Also, I have a new question since I have been reading a little more on here. My husband had his medical completed December 27, 2009 and we sent in the application in early February 2010. I was reading how medicals expire and am now wondering if he will have to do the medical again since it's been over a year and obviously the application will be delayed. Just to recap, we sent in everything in early Feb. 2010, approved for sponsor in March 2010, Buffalo started processing on May 26, 2010, received letter from them on December 9, 2010 asking for three documents: children's long form BC, criminal paperwork from years ago (which I had already sent in with application) and the State Pardon for that conviction (which I also sent in with application). I sent those document in and they received them on Monday, January 31 at 11:59 pm. So, hopefully I don't get another letter stating "he must get a new medical since it has now expired"!! Which would then delay it again by a few months!! I just don't understand how some of us have been waiting a long time and then some people applied and land within a few short month.....within the Buffalo office!!! Please give me some advice....any advice. Thank you again for listening and helping.

Yeah does anybody know the exact time it would expire? I was just assuming it would be the date of the exam and when the lab results were tested (ie. Blood, urine, etc.) I have read that I will have to have another one before being allowed to land, anybody have any idea?
If that's the case then I would assume we would not have to schedule another appointment until a visa is issued. Or do they require you to have another exam and mail them to Missisauga again before a decision is made?
Sorry I'm no help, I'm all questions too. I don't know the exact details, I'm just going off of what I've read on the forum. :/

99.5% of the time they will ask you to redo the medicals if they have expired (one year validity from the date performed). The other 0.5% of the time they will extend them for a short period. When you redo the meds, you send the receipt to Buffalo, not Mississauga.

I don't know how/if you can search an individual thread... so I thought I'd ask this here.
I'm looking to see how many applicants through Buffalo have been asked for a POLICE CERTIFICATE from the state they live in and or have lived in. They seem rather uncommon, but I'm trying to decide if I should go through the grueling process of getting one for my state and sending it in. The FBI background check process is a lot simpler.
What triggers Buffalo to ask for a state police certificate? If the FBI background check has something listed on it?

We included the State one as well, it was much easier to obtain than the FBI one.
