I feel the pain of those who say their heart breaks a little watching people get done in 2 months.
Its not that we aren't happy for you, or aren't trying to be, its just very discouraging.

On another note, we got our visa extensions, finally.  (sent back in July).  So at least we have health coverage again here in Alberta.

Still no information on the PR situation.

OMG believe this I went to the american consulate in Quebec to get a visitor visa for my husband so he could attend the interview in Buffalo with me and HE WAS DENIED Shocked Even though we only asked for a visa for 2 days so he could attend the interview, showed proof that we had an interview, proof of funds in bank, school records, our lease for apt, immigration document proving he was in the middle of the Canadian citizenship process and that I had applied for canadian PR. They sd they did not feel he made enough money and they did not like that he had married an american in may of 2010. I am like we have been married for 7 months we have money and u will not let my husband into the u.s. I was shocked. I could not believe that they could really deny him. So now I will likely have to attend the interview alone and I have a piece of paper stating that he was denied the visa I can show the IO. I guess they can call him and ask him questions. I just hope they do not punish me because the U.S. government is ridiculous. Thought I would share this amazing information. I am still shocked by this.

ECAS says started processing November 15th, Medical received. Then a week later got a letter from immigration (outland Buffalo) stating interview to be waived but needed more documentation re medicals. Sent documentation back, Buffalo received it today. How long will it take them to look at it and make a decision? Does it sit there for long before they look at it?
Thanks.

Dear friends

If I have an interview in Buffalo US , but I can not get an US visa , Do you think they transfer the interview to a country that I can attend the interview  like Mexico ?

I believe that the answer to this is NO, they will not transfer your interview to another country.  I have seen numerous people post that they couldnt get a visa to the country where they had an interview and the application is treated as "abandoned" by the Visa Office.

How/why did you apply through Buffalo if you needed a visa to get in to the US? (just curious)

Dear heatherusa

I have lived in Toronto since 2005 . and it is about 2 years that I have not leaved Canada. So I think I can apply through Buffalo. First 4 years I was international student and form last year I have a post graduated work permit.  But for going to US I need to get a Visa.

By not attending the interview it means that you have decided not to continue with it - you have abandoned it.  Abandoned doesnt mean refused it means that they close the application because they cannot make a determination about eligibility.  In *most* cases someone who has abandoned an application must reapply and pay the fees.

to your previous post... Yes, people legally admitted to Canada for 1+ years can apply through Buffalo, but must be able to enter the US either because they are visa exempt or because they can get a visa, otherwise, if called for an interview that applicant will miss it.
