Yeah hopefully that's the only reason, and that they just want to see you two together? Again, good luck!

I'm approaching my 7 month mark on in 4 days...Dralon you still around? Haven't heard from you in a while, hope all is well!

Good luck to everybody else as well! It could be worse I guess... Roll Eyes

I'm not sure. Some people get treated nicely at the border. Not me, I am so rudely treated at the border, and never given anything but trouble, so I am missing Thanksgiving this year. Sad

You can always try, but have another option just in case they say no. Usually if you tell them the truth, and that you're pregnant and all that stuff, they would most likely let you, or give you a visitor record, which would allow you a certain amount of time to be in Canada. I have also read on this forum (which I wish I would have known earlier) that before it expires, you can return and ask for an extension under your circumstances, and usually they permit your request.

ahhh im still deciding whether to go or not!

i told the border people im staying for 2-3 weeks i stayed 2 months... will they know:( they only stamped my passport with the regular stamp like they always do confusedddddddddddddddddd ANY SUGGESTIONS?

like before i applied for PR i would say im going for a couple weeks and stayed 3 months, when i returned i had no hassle... but since i applied i feel like they might ban me from Canada for kind of overstaying even though i dint get a visitor record (i dont know what that is exactly)

Just a follow up.  We Landed on Oct 14th and yesterday my son's PR card came in the mail.  So five and a half weeks on that count.  It's so COOL to look at.  Unfortunately, mine has yet to show, though I imagine they went out the same day.  No mail today boooo!!!  The only thing that sucks about all of it now, is that his middle name is cut off on all his legal documents.  They only have so much room, I guess, on the screen and his middle name is 8 letters long.  It's an unusual middle name so not like Christopher or Alexander where people who look at it will be able to mentally finish it. It's frustrating because since it's on the COPR/PR card that way then that is how EVERY other document has to show it.  I am not amused.

We went to Service Canada and got our SINs and then filed for OHIP.  Another name issue at the OHIP office.  After I got home I realized that they had the wrong name on my kiddo's paperwork.  His name is Killian and they had typed William!  ARGH!  So we had to go back and have THAT fixed.  She was typing directly from COPR so I don't know what she was thinking lol  Our OHIP goes live on Jan 14!!!!  I am sooo relieved as I will definitely have insurance for the birth at the end of March.  THANK GOODNESS!

Seems like immigration at Buffalo isn't the only place to hire incompetents lol

Sorry about your bad love and what a wonderful, unique name I like it! Hopefully it won't be much to fix! and that all else goes well. Good luck and congratulations with everything Vervain!

Sauga, a visitor record is a little peice of paper they staple into your passport that says you are allowed X amount of time in Canada, and that you cannot work, study, blah blah blah and have to leave by X date.

Still waiting to get the letter to see exactly what it reads. I'm a littler erked at my "friends" right now too.
Since high school as anybody knows, you lose a lot of contact with people and close friends don't become so close anymore. I lost a couple of close friends when I moved to Canada, and it sucks because the people that would probably provide the best letters of declaration for me don't even talk to me anymore barely. So after posting a thread on facebook asking for letters and statements and having only a few people reply is VERY irritating. I'm not very close with my family, and the ones that I am already added stuff into my initial application. I am stressing out because I feel like I'm not going to have enough to prove the IO otherwise. I hope that he/she will. I am thinking about including this in my letter to the IO dicussing that I have a very small circle of friends and family, and hopefully that will be enough?

Happy (American) Thanksgiving!!

PS. BC's lower mainland just got a few inches of snow, and I had to drive to the grocery store...to say the least, with bald tires, it was absolutely terrifying and exciting! Just thought that I would share my story with you. It was my last minute decision to cook my very first small and warm Turkey dinner. I cheated and bought a roast turkey, and boxed stuffing. But it was exhilarating driving in the snow my very first time. (In Canada to boot!) hehe.

No news on my case yet, but I am starting to get all the things I need lined up. So things are looking up, a little bit. Hope you all enjoy your day and good luck on your applications!

Cheers!  Cheesy

Here is the snapshot of that part of the process from our timeline.

The actual letter arrived a few days after ecas changed.

I think it is moving a bit faster now.

How long does it usually take for B'lo to return passports? We've been waiting for 2 weeks and 2 days (or 11 business days) now and the USPS express mail tracking still shows nothing. We are so worried that the passport is lost! Cry

should we email them again?

Yes we did and it was our USPS express mail return envelope tracking # that still did not show up on the USPS website after 2 weeks B'lo has received the passport.

WTF!  My son's PR card arrived on Tues and mine did not.  So I called CIC to check and see if it was lost in the mail and if I'd have to pay for it to be re-issued.  She told me that it was pulled for further review, but refused to tell me what that even means or what possible reason there might be for this.  Nervous.  I already have Permanent Residency, I don't understand what this could be about.  Maybe my picture wasn't good enough??  Cry  I hate that they can't TELL me why!
