Our official correspondence has been a mix of snail and email and ecas. As of right now our communication status for each is as follows:

Snail: nothing since AOR
My husband's actual status: Landed

We havent received anything yet... only the change in ecas. We are hoping that the "decision made" is a good one. All the official correspondence has been snail mail.
What about you?
Nothing here. I hope is a good news, too. It supose to be the PPR request in the snail mail? Or will be just a note that "decision made" ? |

Hey guys, sorry to throw in a random question here. I'll be applying in a few weeks. I'm just curious, how soon are you able to view your status on eCas? Are you sent some kind of username/password? What is the website address? I take it the site doesn't send email notifications, since most people check the site throughout the day for updates?

Yes - if you want to visit Buffalo in person for visa issuance - you can only do this on Tuesday or Thursday. Make sure you're there by 7:30am at the latest (my husband arrived at 7am). It takes a few hours.

actually its not a problem to show up later. We showed up about 830 and had the visa in hand by 10 am! I was the 30th person to come in the doors according to my id tag (everyone entering gets an id tag so not everyone was in line, and then not everyone was there for PR, but quite a few were!) |

I think its very very likely that the PPR is currently being sent via snail mail. My e-cas didn't change at all until after I had already landed, so since your's said decision made I have a feeling that they sent you a letter on October 5th when it changed. |

I was able to see my file on Ecas 1 month after my husbands sponsorship was approved. You need to sign in using the sponsor's name and information and the receipt of payment number (located at the top of the application payment receipt). Here is the website. https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=enI use Matthew's automatic ecas checker that checks it automatically and sends me an email if anything on ecas changes. It's controversial because you have to input your ecas account details, but I was willing to take that risk. Matthew has given me enough evidence to believe that our information is protected, but that's up to you to decide. Here's the website. https://ecas.carroll.org.uk |
