Yahooooooo! My status changed to "decision made" this afternoon at around noon! Congrats Cherlyn and wmaitner. Did you two get an email yet? I hope that will happen tomorrow. Oh no, Buffalo office is closed on Wednesdays. I can hardly wait. Hopefully it will be early on Thursday so I can send my passport in on Thursday. I'm sooooo excited. |

Hi All,
Congrats to everyone who is seeing progress on their application this week!
My husband went to the consulate in Buffalo this morning to pick up his visa in person and then landed via Fort Erie around noon. Smooth sailing!
The details that others have posted here regarding the consulate visit are bang on - with the exception of one small bit. Some previous posters indicated that they were told to wait 2-3 hours after the visa was issued before crossing the border to allow the computer information to synch. This is no longer necessary. Apparently the visa information is now uploaded to the border PCs in 5 minutes and you can cross as soon as you have the visa in hand.
