It seems one of two things happened: 1. Detroit is still issuing visas so they kept your passport and will issue your visa directly. Therefore, Ottawa is not, and won't be, familiar with your case or have your passport. This happened to folks who still got their passports from Buffalo even after they closed their doors to the public. 2. You got caught in the files being sent to Ottawa and for some reason Ottawa hasn't received and processed your file yet. Consider trying to track it from the Detroit end and see if they have it still or if they forwarded it to Ottawa - perhaps your MP can ask Detroit directly, otherwise send a case specific enquiry to Detroit. Sorry to hear about this ... it must be very frustrating to be so close and hit this delay. Hang in there Thank you OhCanadiana I just needed some answers.. I will do my best to hang in, really hard to do. Thank you for all your help.. fingers crossed for next week getting good news.

Has anybody had any problems getting a response from Ottawa? I have sent them 3 emails in the past month and heard nothing back at all. Im getting worried because my medicals expire in a week I dont know why my application is taking so long to process as it was received in October! My e-cas was updated with my address about 2 weeks ago but has only said application received and not changed. Is there a possibility Ottawa doesnt even have my file and thats why theyre not responding? Should I try and contact another office?

Ottawa is usually quick to respond, not sure why it's taking you a while. Are you sending via case specific?

I have just sent them an email again today to see what happen. If I get a response back, I shall let you know. It has been exactly one year since my application got processed ( July 5th, 2011) so I 've just sent another message via Case specific Enquiry on the website ... hopefully someone somwhere will finally give me an exact answer.. I'm so tired of this whole process..

Hi guys, I had to have my MP office call Ottawa to find out about our file. They told here that the VO Detroit had not updated anything on there end since April, so they had no idea what had been going on with us. Thankfully the MP inquired and Ottawa is calling Detroit to tell them to update there system and to find out about our file. Also, I had been sending emails and case specific ones as well. The MP office told me that they were told for me not to bother as no one looks at them, they don't have time. So you both may want to get your MP office involved and complain as lately there have been alot of complaints about CIC. Good luck to both ....

Don't even know where our file is!!!

My application was received on May 18, 2011 at the Buffalo office but was sent to the Los Angeles office a few months later. My medical exam expired during the process and I was told via email that I needed a new on (March 29, 2012) so I got the exam but I received a letter on July 6th giving me instructions on how to get a medical exam! I've sent a few case specific emails asking if my exam results were received but every response I have gotten hasn't answered a single one of my questions! I know the exam was mailed to them on June 5, 2012 because the MP for my area contacted Ottawa to ask. Anyone have suggestions on how to get answers? I'm here in Canada on a study visa and I don't look forward to having to pay international tuition fees again come this fall. I'm getting so tired of this whole process

I'm getting so tired of this whole process I totally sympathize your situation. I am going through the same with paying the high international tuition fees for the past 2 years except we're paying the money to the Americans and I am separated with my spouse who is in Canada. You should have your MP contact LA. Good luck to all of us waiting and having our lives on hold.

calissons thanks for your reply, your lucky to have been told about your extension with your PPR. my husband received his PPR back on may 16th, the VO had it may 22.. at that time his landing date was june 13/12.. they called him on June 7th saying he wouldnt have enough time to land and they were sending off request for medical extension to Ottawa which would take 2-3 weeks and his extension would be good for 12months. We are still waiting have heard nothing yet. its very frustrating...
As for the B4/B4A the immigration officer at the border told me to just be realistic in your pricing, he said dont put 5$ on a new 32" flat screen tv for example.. as long as its reasonable they are fine with it.
thank you too (even if a bit late)

"Yawn" Has anyone heard anything from anywhere? This is really annoying. The bad thing is, we are running low on reserve funds, and I may have to go back to U.S. and work. It would be just my luck the week after I go back, I get ppr, and then have to move AGAIN.

Should we do another medical test? It expired in May. We submitted our files in August but had our Medical done in May. Please let me know what you think?
