Its really crazy knowing how long processing my file took...and finally when done with my interview and was told by the officer that she is "over convinced" that the marriage is genuine... my passport was not stamped  Cry...

The reason is " we do our own background/security check, which we are waiting for...so its been two months since we applied for one and still waiting on it." ..And you know whats funny...is that i was on top of things and i had new FBI and police clearances and also new medicals done for them.
And i never heard of anyone else going through this?Huh Shocked

..Yet I was told i need to wait another month after my interview before my passport request is sent...hmm i waited since May 2nd...and still nothing..

I just sent an email today to buffalo...lets hope they reply quick! Sad
Has anyone had an interview and got accepted for PR, yet had to wait for some background check?
IF so, what is this final background check is about??
And how long did it take to be complete?

Sorry to hear about your bad experience! I wonder why though? did you had your security clearance from FBI  and medical? But you said you had it ready before your interview, if so why you are doing it again? Why immigration officer did not approve you after your interview? I am asking because we are going to interview soon, and I don't know what to expect?
thank you in advance

How about requesting to change your status in Canada from student to visitor when the student visa expires?

Yes Tongue Passport doesn't expire until 2018, student visa expires Feb 2013.

You're right. If all went well with the interview, Buffalo usually granted visa same day. Where are your interview going to be if I may ask? Our was supposed to be next week but cancelled by Buffalo due to its closure. We are waiting to be contacted. Cry

Hi everyone...

My wife, the applicant, couriered her PPR request and passport on May 17th (they received it on 18th and signed for it) within the US as an outland applicant. I was wondering how long does it usually take to get everything back? Waiting has not be kind to my wife.

Please note we did send within a self-addressed courier for them to return her paperwork.

Thanks

Would someone please update my info on the spreadsheet? I got sponsorship approval on May 29th and it was transferred to LA same day. Thanks!

My husband sent his to the Fort Erie address on May 7th and they received it on the 8th. He had a "decision made" notice on Ecas on May 18th. They mailed the COPR/passport back on June 5th and we received it on the 6th. He used Xpress Post both ways.
